actually in Roman times Chrsitians were thrown to the lions because they were accused of being aethists...meaning they did not believe in the ROman Gods... so...OK... but no big
In reality today people often say they are Christian culturally but functionally act like atheists... their faith may need a Lil more shoe leather

Problem... you sound like your taking a postmodernist approach... your god is true.. my god is true... I'm OK your OK?
so if a person prefers drinking gutter water to God;s living water? would I be off saying God may not be glorified in that desire? Postmodernism is in fact a leap into irrationality.

the problem is this... if you want to get to NYC from Poughkeepsie and get on the wrong train headed to to ALbany when you get off where you at? Time Square? I din't think so
there is a reality you have to deal with and it doesn't depend on your or my preference

so.. in Thessalonians there is a comment... "they did not receive the love of truth so as to be saved".. there is something about grace that changes the heart to desire the truth... the real truth and to follow it where it leads. But human nature as it is will not necessarily want that and it takes grace to change "and this is the judgment they loved the darkness more then the light" Jesus

To those who didn't quite "understand" what he was saying, what he meant was Christians become atheists ie. non-believers of other's gods meaning no tolerance towards others' religions. He made absolute sense.

Wow confused by the definitions? Atheism is a lack of religion, not just refusal to acknowledge it as truth.

Christians aren't 99% atheist, they're 99% Christian. Their religion requires them to refuse belief in other gods or religions.

You don't need a Bible you need a dictionary.

Meaning that they agree with atheists that none of the hundreds of thousands of gods that have been worshiped by man throughout history really exist...except the one they believe in?

Interesting, eh?

If their background is based on an all or nothing philosophy that refuses to validate other perspectives, when they reject Christianity; they have nothing to replace it with. All or nothing.

Like Christians-which they truly are, at core-they believe God only means one thing.

I like your point... while they promote their beliefs and demand to be heard, they often deny others the same opportunity. They claim to believe in God, but if a non-christian talks about god, well... THEN it's voodoo. it's called "egocentric."

If a Christian has faith in the love and mercy of the one true God, and in salvation thru His Son, Jesus...how in the world does that mean "99% atheist"??

Your...uh...question is confusing. What are you trying to ask?

An athiest is someone who does not believe in God, I believe fully in God, only it's the God of the Holy Bible, not the God of other religions.

*"Christian - a person professing belief in Jesus as the Christ"
