I took my beagle to the vet yesterday b/c on Monday night after taking him and my other one to the park, he was stumbling, falling and not walking properly and his head was somewhat tilted to the left side. I took him to the vet yesterday as he had not gotten better and they did blood work on him and the results were that his calcium level was quite high. She said that it could be a mass in his brain causing the unsteadiess/wobbliness (central nervous system) and he is on medication for the next couple of weeks till he gets retested in 3 weeks. Has anyone experience something like this with their dogs and if so, any words of wisdom or anything? I'm freaked out here and will be on pins and needles till he gets retested.

He's an elderly dog, he can't stay forever no matter how great he is. Just try to be sure he's not suffering, and love him as long as you can.

Your baby is getting on in years - good luck. Can dogs have strokes? That is what this sounds like to me (NOT a vet!) since it was sudden.

Do *NOT* do any "heroic" measures!!! DON'T force him to suffer because you're too selfish to put him down.

Surgery, chemo & radiation all HURT the animal & DO *NOT* WORK!!!

Keep him comfortable as long as you can & then **LET HIM GO**!!!

Alternative therapies such as rife machines can cure cancer if thats what it is. EMEM3D types are best. Look into it.
