you think you will be hanging on the space? isn't suppose to be the paradise, the reward of which God has given to those who deserve it.

That's a very good question, since nowhere in the Bible does it say that Christians will go to heaven!!

The Bible says Christians will meet the returning Christ in the air. Now, even though elsewhere in the Bible, the sky is called heaven, 1 Thes. distinguishes between the two by saying that Christ is coming down from heaven while Christians go to meet him there.

1 Thes 4:16-17 -- "For the Lord himself will come DOWN FROM HEAVEN, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR."

But where are they (Christ and his saints) going from there? Not back to heaven! But, "...they will reign ON THE EARTH" (Rev 5:10).

On the other hand, 'paradise' is only used three times in the Bible. The term more commonly used is 'Kingdom of God or Heaven', which is used 101 times in the New Testament. Christ's promises to the saved is, the Kingdom of heaven (a.k.a. Kingdom of God) (Matt 5:3 & 10).

Most people seem unaware that Jesus spoke of Heaven and Earth as places of future blessing; not heaven only. Please see Matthew 5:5. The Bible speaks of New Heavens and New Earth and says the the purpose of Jesus administration is to unite these under God. Please see: (Ephesians 1:8-10, 2 Peter 3: 13)

Paradise was in the old testament when a saint died. When Jesus died, he went and preached to those who had already died and led them captive into heaven.
Now to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
