If I am in country A, can I ask a travel agent in country B to issue me a ticket to travel from A to B (on-ward), and then B to A (return).

Basically, can I buy a ticket from a travel agent in a different country, or do I have to buy a ticket from the travel agent from the country I am going to fly out on.

Thank you for all your answers. Can you also let me know what is PTA?

If I a buy a fare from country B, which is cheaper then if I had bought that from country A, is that ok? Does any PTA charge need to be added?

Yes, you can buy a ticket to be used for a flight in a different country. I regularly buy tickets to fly to another country from the U.S., either online or through a travel agent, and before I leave the U.S. I purchase tickets for a separate round-trip flight in that other country. No restrictions, as long as you're using legal airline tickets. I always use e-tickets so everything is in the computer system.

You can buy the ticket from anywhere. The main thing is to price it out in both countries though, you may find that your home country may be cheaper than buying it from the foreign country or visa versa. But yes you can buy from another country.
