You can make it without the bananas being very ripe, but it won't have as much of a banana flavor and won't be as moist. I don't usually wait until the bananas are black, but I like them to have some of the little brown spots I call sugar spots. Good luck.

you dont have to wait until the peel turns black for them to be ripe.
my idea of a ripe banana is when the peel is no longer green on the ends, and has begun to have little spots of black on them, and are a bit softer to the touch.

no need to! use baby food bananas the bread would be more moister otherwise put bananas in a paper bag and leave it in there for an hour or two it should turn black or polka dotted hehe

The more ripe they are the sweeter they are. They don't have to get black but they will also mash better when riper.

if you have yellow bannanas and can't wait for them to brown for days, put them in a brown paper bag and let them sit for a few hours, they will ripen quickly
