sigh
The Family of God is a dysfunctional one. Look at the guys Jesus hung out with and how quick they were to run at the first sign of trouble.
However, remember Ephesians 4. We are called to suffer for unity. I know it is tough and people will always let you down, but how much more glorified can God be then when we strive to follow even when it hurts?
Every Christian in the world is a member of God's family, but only those people that you worship with are your church. That is a valuable commodity and you should do everything you can - strive with everything in you - to maintain and promote unity.
It will not be possible to have no conflict in the Family, until we are in Heaven. That's why i think that the closer we are to unity, the more Heavenly life will feel.
hope that helps

My husband and I attended a church which was made up of mostly his family. You talk about a messed up church. His sister was trying to lead the women to be aganist our pastor, but without doing it openly. There was nothing wrong with the pastor it was the people of the church. Our pastor finally stepped down cause of all the hate in the church and he could no longer take the people closer to God. We stayed behind and things got worse. Till finally two years after our pastor left we found a new church and let me just say it was filled with people who was for God. There is so much peace in that church, and there is no clicks. Don't give up cause of what one church is doing. Go visit other churches and stay there long enough to get a feel for the people, and when you find the right church God will let you know.

I don't think that you can ever find a church that is doing the biblical actions a church is suppose to do that won't be in conflict at some point. The fact is we are a bunch of sinners getting together to worship God...we are going to mess up sometimes.
As far as being hurt...that comes with relationship building. The more you get to know someone the more vulnerable you are to get hurt. What you are responsible for is how you respond. Remember that you are responsible to be obey what the Bible says.
Always remember that true peace comes in your relationship with God and not in a church body.

Its like divorce-you never really get over it. But it is people that cause problems. The church or denomination is just a building or organization.
The smoothest church I have found is a Calvary Chapel. It is a hybrid church that came out of the Jesus movement in the 60's and 70's. That group split into two groups. The more conservative is Calvary Chapel and the more liberal and charismatic is the Vineyard church movement.
The Calvary Chapels are all over the USA, and some in England.

The people you trust the most have the most power to hurt you, plain and simple. And they always will, given enough time. That is life for us as sinful human beings. No church is perfect. The church is the people, and people mess up! You must learn to forgive and resolve issues in a godly manner. Peace comes from God, and He will never let you down! Keep the faith my friend!

i found out myself that not all churchs are the same even if they are the same denomanation . in fact i think that denomanations are the cause of this problem for they try to tell you that they are the one and only church and they know the true way to christ. but really all they want is a big attendance on sunday morring this is why paul told us not to be divided be one mind and one body . in my opion and dealings with which denomanational church to go to i found out its best to go to a non-denomanation church that has the same veiws and opions as you do and is more bible base than that the theoligy of there founding father like martin luther, john calivan , joseph smith, consitene and so on . and it is possible to find one that fits your needs just dont stop looking and praying for the right one for you . hope this helps may the peace of god be with you allways .

Peace is in your heart. If you keep your eye on the Lord and not worry about people, it will cause you less pain. I know that there is suppose to be unity in the body of Christ, but everyone hasn't been delivered of some issues. So, don't let people keep you from going to church.

The truth is someone of your faith at some point of your life is going to offend you, and that hurts because it's easier to trust people who share our beliefs.
This is true for every religion because people aren't perfect, the religion might be, but the people aren't. Really feeling peace when someone offends you becomes a choice, a hard one, but a personal one just the same.
best wishes

I liked the Brethren church, a variation of the Amish and Mennonites. No mind games there.

That is why I didn't go to church for a long time. Now I do though. You should go in knowing the doctrine that is going to be preached. I go to Swedenborgian Christian Church now.
