I'm not saying one religion is more right than another. I was brought up christian, but I am now spiritual.

I am confused with the bible...
Why did the bible forget to mention dinasours, their is proof they existed...
and if God is so perfect then how come he decided he needed to destroy the world with a flood (Noah) Isn't that like basically saying,
"Oooops, the world has failed, and so have I so lets try that again..."

If he loves us so much then how come he puts fear into our hearts from sinning...Yet he created humans to sin...

Then he damns us to hell, if we are not as perfect as Jesus?
~confused~

Thats way more than one question, but I'll take a swing at this. :-)

I honestly have no idea why God did not put in any mention about dinosaurs. It would have saved the world a whole lot of trouble with carbon dating, and debates and levels of silt and all that. Maybe He doesn't want to be believed in based on someones discovery of some bones in the ground.

God is perfect, but when Adam and Eve chose not to believe, it set off a chain reaction, where all mankind decided to exercise their choice and sin against God. God desired for people to choose to stay in a right relationship with Him, but they walked away and did their own disgusting and evil things. During the Noahic times, people were murdering each other, and committing other horrible sins like it was nothing. Perhaps God's choice to wipe out the earth was not so much to destroy all evil, but to preserve what little good there was left. Only eight people were still considered right with God! I would want to protect them from the world, if I were Him!
It was not God failing the world, it was the world failing God. And He could see that they would not repent.

God does not want us to be afraid of Him when we sin. He gave us the Holy Spirit as a sort of alarm to signal when we are doing things we know are wrong. We have a choice then, to either come back to God and ask for forgiveness, and try to be closer to Him, or to back away entirely and keep doing whatever we want despite our knowledge that what we want is wrong.

The closer you get to God, the more you desire to do the things that would make Him happy, kind of as a way to show Him thanks for what He has done for you.
God does not want anyone to go to Hell. And Christianity is not about making sure we are good enough to go to Heaven. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. That is precisely why we need Jesus. He voluntarily put Himself under the authority of violent men so they would have a chance to ask for forgiveness and return to God.
God knows we are not perfect, but we are perfected through Jesus. God sees us through His Son's blood when we ask for forgiveness. We should try to walk as Jesus did, and when we fall short He is the one who puts us back on our feet again and walks beside us.
Hope this helps you out a bit. Faith is tough sometimes but God is faithful and just to forgive us. Much love!

First, I believe a lot of the Bible is symbolic - not literal. For instance 40 years just means a very long time, not necessarily exactly 40 years.

One possible explanation is dinosaurs were before man. Those "7 days" of creation could have been millions of years earth time. So, by the time man arived on the "6th day," it could have been millions of years after the "5th day" when the animals were created. However, there are some references to "dragons" and "monsters" in the Bible. Now, I also did a quick search for dinosaurs and the bible, and a reference did come up. I only quickly glanced at it, so I don't know it's validity, but, if you want to read it for yourself, here it is. http://www.clarifyingchristianity.com/dinos.shtml

As for the flood, again, the "failure" was caused because of man, not God. God destroyed them because of it. It is no different than sending someone to hell after death. Again, a lot of the stories in the Old Testament have a lot of symbolism in them, so it's hard to take everything literally.

Also, God didn't create humans to sin. He gave them free-will. Sin is the rejection of God. If God didn't give a choice to accept Him or not, then we would just be mindless drones - no different than animals. We wouldn't be able to think and ponder and dwell on questions like these ;-)

He doesn't damn us to Hell if we are not perfect. No one is perfect, but a lot of people have gone to Heaven. I don't know where you heard that - but I don't believe that people go to Hell unless they are perfect.

It's good to have questions and doubt. It's dangerous when someone doesn't doubt. It's called having blind faith. Part of growing up is questioning lots of things - not just Religion, and doing research and analyzation. It's how we form our own conclusion and form ourselves as independent thinking people.

You've got it all wrong.

"Why did the bible forget to mention dinasours"
It doesn't mention elephants or sharks.. or polar bears, penguins.. turtles.. it doesn't mention a lot of them.

"and if God is so perfect then how come he decided he needed to destroy the world with a flood (Noah) Isn't that like basically saying,
"Oooops, the world has failed, and so have I so lets try that again...""
The world was so full of evil that there were only eight people that followed him! He said before He destroyed them that He was sorry, but He couldn't control how each one acted.
Each individual had their own choice to sin. And all but eight did.
Just goes to show you that sin has its consequences.

"If he loves us so much then how come he puts fear into our hearts from sinning...Yet he created humans to sin..."
He did not create humans to sin. So your statement is incorrect.

"Then he damns us to hell, if we are not as perfect as Jesus?"
We are sent to hell because we have sin.
If one repents of sin and accepts Jesus' as their Saviour they are no longer "damned to hell" but have eternal life after death.
It really isn't that hard. With God's help, you can be as perfect as Jesus/God. It says in the Bible to be perfect as our Father in Heaven is perfect. God would not ask/tell us to do something that He knows we can never accomplish.

I believe in the love and mercy of the one true God, and in salvation thru His Son, Jesus.

Being "brought up christian"? Does that mean that you opened your heart and your mind to God and accepted Him? Or, does that mean you went to church most every Sunday? Big difference.

Perhaps the Bible didn't "forget" to mention dinosaurs. Have you considered that maybe they (dinosaurs) weren't really that important a topic? The Bible doesn't mention a lot of things. Perhaps it's more focused on the truly important things...like faith, the message of the Christ, etc.

We'll NEVER be as perfect as Jesus. When we accept Him, we are spiritual children (hence "born again"). Children make mistakes. But, they also learn along the way. Children grow and mature, and make better choices. Doesn't a physical child reflects on and honors the physical parents? So does the spiritual one.

Doubt and confusion. Before accepting Him, it's the work of the deceiver to keep us away from God. After accepting, it's part of the natural course of events of the growth of faith.

Good question. Keep your heart and your mind open...and keep asking questions. You're in my prayers.

The Bible doesn't spell out everything that has ever existed. That's not its purpose. Through the Bible God reveals to us who He is, how He thinks, and what He requires of us. The unifying theme of the Bible is mankind's sin and God's plan for restoration.

God did not create us to sin. He did create us with the ability to choose. For some reason that we may not be able to comprehend, it is important to God that we choose. He placed the forbidden tree in the garden, it seems, so that Adam and Eve would have to choose whether to believe God and obey Him or trust in their own wisdom. If there had been no possibility to go against God, they would have been following Him out of necessity and not by choice.

God does not "damn us to hell" because we are not as perfect as Jesus. The Bible teaches that God is perfectly holy. Though we were created to be with Him, once we sinned, that sin caused a separation between sinful mankind and holy God. The penalty for that sin is death. So every time God has killed someone who sinned, it was the natural outcome of that sin. It's all the times that God has not killed us for our sins that are unnatural, a holding back of judgment.

Jesus died for us, paying the penalty for our sin, so that we could be forgiven, cleansed of our sin, and live again in the presence of God. Those who choose to be forgiven, who choose Jesus, will spend eternity in the presence of God. Those who do not choose Jesus and forgiveness through His blood, will spend eternity outside the presence of God (hell). This is the natural consequence of sin and not some aggressive damnation from God. "He is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance."

The only way to clear up confusion is to really read the Bible and learn what God reveals about Himself and His ways--to ask for His guidance and wisdom and not to rely on our own.

God did not put fear into our hearts from sinning at all. Man did that. Do not read the book of truths and half truths if it confuses you so much.
If you think that you were created to sin then that is your view. I have a greater purpose.
All those things that you talking about are all based on the perception of man. God has nothing to do with it. No one can show me a bible that God wrote. No one can show me the first bible either. Men wrote the bible and claim that they were under the influence of God. How do we know that that is true.

God is perfect but we are the wise ones we are imperfect. You know right from wrong but sometimes you deliberately do the wrong, why? There is no fear of Him in sinning it is the Christian religion that has put the fear cause the bible has been written and rewritten several times to suit different persons. God is pure love there is no fear of Him in my heart. If i would know you I would send Gods love to you then you would know what i am talking about, No god does not damn any one our actions damn us. Please do not be confused. to read the Bible properly you need to read some other scriptures. You are spiritual hence the suggestion

I think you are confusing Yhwh, the "God of Israel", with Zeus or some other diety. You make it sound like he sits up there zapping people for wrongdoing which is not so. If you read the biblical text, especially the first 5 books, its clear that he set up the universe to work in a certain way and if humans violate those universal laws then bad things happen. Not because he is zapping people but because the consequenses are built into the natural order of the universe. So in a sense, we are doing it to ourselves.

The term "dinosaur" was a recent addition to the language, circa 1841.

Behemoth, Leviathan and tanniyn are terms used to express the original Hebrew words.

Yes, God is perfect; the problem is that humanity is not perfect ... He could have made us as robots; rather, He made us and gave us "free will" to obey; humanity chose to use that "free will" to disobey.

He loves us so much that He provided a way for us to be made "right" in His sight; a way for us to be restored, a way for us to be counted as "righteous" in Christ. He does not condemn anyone to hell ... it is just that people choose to not accept His atonement.
