That's a good question! I guess it all depends on what’s meant by “Christianity”, because for every denomination there’s probably a slightly different way of doing the whole “Christianity” thing. I think the term "Christianity" has more to do with the outward manifestation of the beliefs of whoever’s calling himself a Christian at the time. Some of it is great, some not so much. (I am a follower of Jesus myself, by the way).

For instance, it seems (to me) that members of "Christianity" (perhaps a more accurate term here is "Churchianity") are content with their spiritual state-of-affairs as long as their lifestyle resembles something from “Leave it to Beaver” or “Father Knows Best.” The father dutifully attends his Promise-Keeper rallies and votes Republican, and the wife studies her cook-book and cross-stitching patterns, all the while the both of them seeming to be more familiar (and more concerned) with these things than with their Bibles or the basics of Theology in general. *That* type of “Christianity” bugs the heck out of me. It’s so – “plastic”!

But the type of Christianity where the lovers of Jesus don’t “fit the mold” but who exude supernatural love and the fragrance of the *Heavenly* Kingdom in their mannerisms and attitude, while retaining their individuality (even if it means not being a Betty Crocker or Suzy Homemaker, LOL!) – now *that’s* what Christianity should look like (in my opinion). It doesn’t have to involve such things as legalistic church-attendance just because it’s what’s “expected”. A Christian wife/mother doesn’t have to be seen as Godly if – and only if – she’s also involved in the church knitting- , scrap-booking- , quilting- , underwater-basket-weaving-clubs. I don’t think a family is more “spiritual” the more kids they have – but then, I’ve never bought into church fertility contests. ; )

Hope this makes sense! :)

Christianity to me is all the true born of God Christians redeemed by His Blood.

When Christians follow after the Spirit of Truth / God. Then there is unity. When Christians try to put on self righteousness then there is judgmental behaviors. When Christians realize God has dressed them with Christ's righteousness, they realize they cannot be more or less righteous by doing anything. They are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. The follow after God because they are the righteousness of Christ.

I dislike it intensely, because some of my relatives are hateful and bossy with it. The Bible is full of contradictions and innacuracies. Anyone who says it is not makes a fool of himself. My older sister may spend $43,800 on a ticket to a phony Heaven that no one sane would like. She also makes fools believe she is righteous, while trying to cheat her siblings and talking hatefully to them. Her preacher won't scold her as long as she gives him so much money. Several relatives have bought approval from churches in a similar manner. One cousin was almost thrown out of a church for coming drunk every Sunday and pawing women not his wife, but the church needed his money, so he was allowed to remain in it.

I dislike institutionalised religion and clericalism and dogma but I don't object to people believing in something spiritually uplifting, as long as they respect the choices of others.

Just one version of the worship of the desert god. One of many versions including jewdism, islam, zorastorism, mormanism, children of god, branch davidianism, etc. It has some legitimacy beyond cult because of it's longevity and number of participants.
