Depends what you call 'affordable'.

If you are looking for the cheapest one you can find then most discount stores have them. They'll get your heart rate up and improve cardio health but not much more.

If you are looking to buy one that won't break or wear out quickly then you should look at features instead of price, and expect to pay in the neighborhood of $400 to $500 which is still pretty cheap but of high enough quality for daily demands by one person.

I have recommended, as an alternative, an elliptical machine. They not only require you to stand, most also have an upper body workout feature. In addition, by pedalling an elliptical backwards you can isolate different muscle groups and improve your workout.

Yes, to some the act of standing is in itself tiring, but it also is a good addition to your exercise regimen... why not do everything at once?

Have you thought about just getting a trainer for your current bike? They generally only run a few hundred dollars and and really easy to set up
