My husband and I got married in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It was fantastic and I'd recommend it 100%. We worked with Eva and Michael, a married couple who have been planning weddings for 15 years in PV (their excellent website is www.vallartaweddings.net). She's from the area and knows all of the best vendors; he's Canadian; they both speak perfect English so nothing gets "lost in translation." We emailed with them back and forth for about 6 months planning the details--for example, I said I wanted a bouquet of tropical flowers and Eva emailed me 8 pictures to get a better idea--I chose 1 of them, and the bouquet arrived at my hotel the day of the wedding. They took care of ALL of the details and I had a completely stress-free wedding--all for a total of less than $2,000, which is unbelievably less than you'd pay in the States - that included the entire ceremony set-up, flowers, musician, photographer, and officiant, plus all the paperwork to make it legal. They also recommended hotels for my family to stay in the area, plus worked with a local restaurant to plan the meal for our reception.

The city of PV is fantastic too--people there speak enough English that non-Spanish people won't have any problems at all. There's a ton to do there--fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, sight-seeing, and tons of shopping. It's on the beach, so many people just relaxed as well. There are a ton of places to stay, from good budget hotels downtown to luxury all-inclusives on the beach. Plus, weddings in Mexico are recognized as legal in the US, so there's no red tape to go through.

Good luck!

I got married in Ocho Rios at the Jamaica Grande Resort and it was everything we could have asked for! The staff was helpful in long-distance planning and the location was perfect! I recommend Jamaica wholeheartedly! (Not to mention the price was right! Just dont' be thrown by the price of the marriage license!)

Other locations tho Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Paradise Island, Bahamas.

Hawaii, Las Vegas, New York, London, Milan, Orlando (Disney), I mean anywhere you want to go. Its like Visa, weddings are everywhere even in the middle of nowhere. But I do think a Disney wedding would be cool and one on the beach in Hawaii. Gosh that would be lovely. Congrats!

What about a Carribean Cruse? You can go to Aruba, Curacao, St. Thomas etc. There is also a cruse that starts in Rio and goes around Cape Horn.

I got married in Antigua and it was all I could've wanted for my wedding. We chose not to get married at a big resort, but got married in the courtyard of a beautiful, historic old hotel (The Copper and Lumber Store Hotel) in English Harbour. There are big resorts there, too, if that's what you have in mind. Antigua is beautiful and friendly. The beaches are wonderful and there's plenty to do.

Key West in Florida is a nice place for a destination wedding...especially if you want to invite family. It's not international and pretty easy to get to from most US locations.

My cousin is leaving for the Whitehouse location in Jamaica next week. It is a Sandals resort. It is absolutely beautiful. I also have a friend who went to that same location and her pictures are amazing.
