I don't consider it wasted time. For me it was not just Sunday mornings, but also Sunday nights and Wednsday nights and anytime in between that I could go and do something with other Christians.

I also spent many hours during the week studying the bible and I do not consider that wasted time either. The reason is because I know the bible and I know what it says and when people try to minister to me because they think I am a sinner going to hell, I understand where they are comming from and why they are trying to convert me and it amazes them to realize I know more about ascripture than they do.

I did not leave Christianity quickly or really even willingly. It is just that my beleifs changed and I could not overlook the errors and contridictions in the bible anymore and among other things. I finally had to admit to myself, that if I stayed in the church, then it would be wasted time, because I no longer beleived, but while i beleived it was not wasted and I had many good times in worship and fellowship.

Yes and even some Christians are upset about all those wasted Sunday mornings! We are still Christians because we would never turn from Christ...He's what it is all about. Jesus is NOT about rules, requirements and sitting in a seat for years on end! There are many people getting the drift now and meeting with a few people in their homes.
I now believe that the "system" is a subtle distraction from Satan to keep people from truly living as Christians. They pay their dues and sit! What a joke....and the jokes is on those who think Christianity is all about "being there." The church is people....those who love and follow Christ and his Word. It's that simple. It's not about wasting time listening to some head honcho and giving away your money to keep the wages, heat, lights, maintenance, and landscaping paid! We'll be safe if we just remember it's all about Jesus!

I completey agree with what Home Body said previously!

I am a Christian, but I don't believe one has to be in a church-pew each Sunday to be a Christian.

I see church-attendance the way some see gym-attendance: People can stay physically fit without ever entering a fitness-center. In the same way, people can stay spiritually fit without ever entering a church-building.

Besides, the way church is done these days, there's at least as much work involved in making a Sunday service go smoothly as there is in the averge workday. I know because I used to sing in a praise & worship band and our congregation met in a school building, so there was alot of work involved in setting-up and taking-down equipment (like living out of a suitcase for months on end)... And here I thought Sunday was a Day of *Rest*! ;)

No, I'm not upset.
Spending the time learning about the Patriarchal religion and it's roots, it's lies and it's deceptions has been an enlightenment to me, showing me the way to my true path.

Learn the ways of thine enemies - for only by learning what their plans/schemes/lies are, can you counter such things in your own life.

Those Sunday mornings were not wasted - they were an education in how NOT to believe.

Nah, not really. They were peaceful, a time to spend with family and friends, and they are part of the person that I am today. The person I am today would not exist without those sundays I spent in church.

Oh man! All those years of having to get up on Sunday morning to go to church! It so wasn't fair. I could have been sleeping.

You can not be an ex-Christian. you can be an ex-religious person, just name your religion or denomination. But once a Christian-always a Chrsitian.

I was forced to go to church, there is nothing i can do to regain what has been lost, but i can always learn and grow past what i once was.

Don't worry when you go to hell you will spend Monday through Sunday there for all eternity and then you will remember all those Sunday mornings you missed. God Bless.
