I'm having my hair cut next week and I fancy a change so I'm looking for some advice on what styles are fashionable at the moment and what would suit me!

At the moment I have long blonde hair which is layered with a side swept fringe. Its quite think hair and wavy but I striaghten it when I wear it down.

I was thinking of going for a graduated bob but not sure if it will be manageable with my thick hair so really just looking for ideas. I wear my hair up a lot for work and I wouldn't consider myself to be particulalry trendy!!

Any suggestions or pic would be appreciated.

Okay if you have thick hair do not go with a bob-- you will look like a big mushroom head. Go with a cute short choppy layered hair cut (like Mandy Moores short punkish style), it is easy to style and alot easier to straighten

I have similar hair to you. I have a bob with long layers cut into it. I don't have a fringe but I have the sides cut slightly graduated. It means I can put it up in a pony-tail when I want to be smart with side bits hanging down at the side. I also like to scrunch it with some mousse and scrunch some wax onto it to hold the curls and the layers help this style too. I don't bother straightening it because it's so thick and would take too long but I find that just runninng a bit of wax through it and scrunching the ends makes it look quite nice.

I recommend going to a hair designer that could work with you to help you suggest the right style for you and your face shape. Some hair cuts are more flattering when they match our face shape. A good hair designer can work with you and your ideas to give you the look you desire and also give you the tips for styles and the hair care products to get the results you desire.

If you have thick and wavy hair be very careful about a bob. I had it done and my hair looked like a bell on the top of my head!

I know how you feel i have the sidesweep bangs too. i suggest you go dark brown and put light brown highlights in it. Tell the salonist you want the sidebangs thinned out. This will help because the'll fallback alot more and not be in your face and if they still are maybe you should put some brown bobby clips in your hair That way thell blend in with you hair then take you pins and pin them back it will be so cute

I would keep it long, at least you can put it up and do different styles with long hair, once its been cut into a bob you cant do much with it!

Bobs are in big time at the moment, if your hair is think ther can feather it, it tins hair out a good bit.

you need to consider your face shape. Try this link: http://www.beauty-and-the-bath.com/Face-Shape.html

then find a style you like from there. Bob's are always classic, but if you have thick wavy hair (like mine) its a pain the butt to have to straighten it everyday. just a thought
