Your might try a periodical called "Archaeology Today"
it is available in most Libraries.
Another is "Biblical Archaeologist"

"The Finger Print of God" by Ross is a book just for you.

But you really dont want proof, do you?

Well I suppose it all depends on what you mean by "shread (sic) of proof to the bible." If I can hypothesize "proof to the bible" to mean, can any claims made in the bible be substantiated, then the answer is, of course yes, some of them can be.

The New Testament claims St. Peter's house was in Capernaum, in Galilee. That is precisely where archaeologists found it. The bible suggests that Pontius Pilate was the governor of Judea during the reign of Tiberius. A plaque in Caesaria as well as the writings of Tacitus confirm that too. The bible suggests King David was once a king enthroned in Judea. A Syrian stele from the Davidic era confirms that he indeed was. The bible tells us that the Mesopotamian King, Nebuchadnezzar, rode in and overthrew Judea in the middle of the first millennium BC, dragging the Jewish people away into exile. Several Babylonian engravings do appear to depict exactly such an event taking place.

Now - on the other hand if rather than the claims of the bible, you are talking about the claims of Christianity (which is not the same thing as the bible), that is a rather different discussion. If that is your real question, perhaps you should re-ask it.

Well, i don't know exactly where you stand on the Bible, but i can give some compelling stuff...

It is written by over 40 authors (many contemporaries, not able to compare material) throughout the course of 1000 years without having a single contradiction among the writings.

Many people say that the New Testament is unreliable because it was "made up" in the 4th century (even the 1st or 2nd, for those people who don't realize that Constantine was not alive yet - and he is vital to that conspiracy, right?) However, there are 5,686 extant copies of the New Testament left from the first century.

The first Greek interpretation of the Old Testament (the Greek Septuagint) was penned over four hundred years before the birth of Christ, yet all of the prophecies in it held true (by the way, the chances of that are statistically set at one in one-hundred-million-billion).

I don't know which angle of denial you were taking toward the Scriptures, but maybe some of this stuff is helpful. Let me know if it wasn't, maybe i have something else.

I have traveled to the Middle east. Many of the non- Christian, non Jewish tour guides verify the happenings and sites spoken about in the Bible. The British and other Museums in other parts of the world I visited are full of artifacts that confirm Bible events, persons, heroes, villains. We need to look with an open mind and not preconceived negative notions. I suggest you research Bible archeology, better yet, travel tho Egypt, Greece, Turkey ( maybe Israel is too dangerous right now) You might be surprised to find that there is more that a shred of evidence that the Bible is true.

Actually there have been many things in the bible that have been proven true and historical, yet you fail to see it or believe it.

If a person doesn't believe in God (such as yourself) then they will not believe in the things of God.

Until you believe in God you will never see the proof to His existence. Sorry but this is how things work. Seeing is not believing, believing is seeing.

What proof are you looking for?
Biblical events have been substantiated by other writings from the same time periods.
Sometimes you have to step out of FAITH.
I'm having trouble finding the location of a specific scripture but it goes something like this: You believe because you have seen, but how much greater it is to believe without having seen.
I'll try to find the scripture. It is new testiment.
Sounds to me like you would like to believe.

I have read your religious rants for weeks now, and have reached the conclusion, that you are an illiterate moron. Can you clearly and lucidly explain what you mean by a "single shred of proof to the bible." Do you mean prove that the bible is the word of God? Sorry, it can't be done, or won't be done until God once again makes Himself visible to man.

The bible was written by men, who had their own agendas to push, and as such are subject to close scrutiny.

BUT... the bible is a fairly accurate history of those ancient peoples, and their comings and goings. And as such, deserves to be studied and appreciated for what it is.

We will all one day meet our Maker and you will then have all the proof you need. It will be to late then. If you gave it a chance you would see all the predictions in the Old Testiment came true and some of those for these days are happening now.

Go here and look through the lists of fulfilled Bible prophecy. You will see that MANY have been fulfilled long after the Bible was finished. Why is this not proof?

You might want to try reading "The Case for Christ" and "The Case for Faith", both by Lee Strobel. Also, another book titled "A Ready Defense" by Josh McDowell. And of course, reading the Bible helps too, but, as with any remedy, a desire for a cure must be in place first. ;)
