Who really are you, God?
The way that humans view God is influenced by their culture, by the religion of their parents, and possibly by their own choice. Some people use a name for the Deity; others simply call him God. Does it really matter? Is there just one true God who reveals himself and his name to us?
Why is there so much suffering?
If a person's reckless or immoral way of life has ruined his health or reduced him to poverty, he may complain. But he may well know why he is suffering. However, many others suffer grievously through no fault of their own. Some have chronic illnesses. Others struggle against seemingly insurmountable odds to have a roof over their heads and enough food for their families. Millions are victims of crime, war, indiscriminate violence, natural disasters, or injustice at the hands of people in authority. Understandably, many ask: 'Why have such conditions become so widespread? Why does God permit all this suffering? Why am I here? What's the purpose 2 life

I read over some of the answers and I noticed some would ask why all the suffering, etc. The Bible has the answers to all of the serious questions that we want answered...what is our purpose, what is the purpose for the earth,...what happens to us when we die...I guess I would just ask God if we could have enough time to witness to everyone before the end of this system of things, and I am sure that is why he is being so patient already, so I think I have the answer to that one too...I found it in the Bible...

2 Peter 3:9 & 10 " 9 Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance. 10 Yet Jehovah’s day will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a hissing noise, but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be discovered

I would ask GOD why the people in the world are always fighting and in disagreement. Also, I would ask why do good people suffer the most. There are so many questions that only GOD can answer. But unfortunately we will never know the answers until we all die and meet our maker.... this is one of the best questions I have come across on this site since I have been on yahoo answers! But, very hard to answer honestly.

Nothing.

I wouldn't ask a thing.
I want for nothing from life, ultimately speaking. It doesn't matter to me.

And if I was presented before some god... and put in a position where I couldn't deny his existence... where I could actually ask a question.... I wouldn't ask a thing, as I would already know everything I needed to.
Besides... if there was an all-powerful god and whatnot, and I asked him a question I couldn't work out the answer to, it would probably be that I couldn't work it out because I couldn't understand the answer, and having it explained to me wouldn't make a shred of difference anyway.

Is that a good enough answer?

Is it christian-friendly enough?

i have a image of a god that is very hands off when it comes to us. God or whatever you want to call it in my opinion has given us all the tools .to handle any problem he/she gave us the ability to reason and the analytical minds to figure out any problem then he/she/whatever "God" left us to our own devices and wills.
so anything that happens to us is our own doing not the will of god , the will of god is for us to use the gifts given to us to their full potential.so when it comes to any type of judgment not only will be held accountable as individuals but also as a species. so when and if i stand before God and I'm able to ask questions i think the question i will ask is " Was the duck billed platypus just thrown together with left over parts or what?

I would ask god why, if he was so omnipotent, would he ever be upset at us for gaining knowledge. I would ask why he would ever need to kill us, either in a flood or through plagues. I would ask why he would teach us the importance of marriage and then have an illegitimate child. I would ask where the eff he's been all these years. I would ask why he would allow people to kill in his name. Man you've got me going... I have a lot of questions about his erratic actions over the last 10,000 years...

I'm a lifelong agnostic--not an atheist, an agnostic. I don't know what's going on with god, or all the gods and goddesses that have ever been and shall ever be in all the varied religions past, present and future.

Seems to me that every culture through time has had its different religions--and with them have come differing deities--and with THAT has come wars fought insanely in the names of those religious icons.

So, i came face-to-face with someones god, and i couldn't deny that it WAS a premier religious deity, then i would ask this:

Why allow all the suffering in your name?
Are you an uncaring god, one to whom the agony and death of your followers is of little matter?
If so, do you wonder that me and many like me don't find you appealing to follow?

--and--

Why allow unwanted children to be born?
Why allow sick child molesters to run free?
Why not step in and insure EVERY child has decent food, plenty of water, a warm safe place to sleep at night, parent who care, and an adequate education?

--and--

Why allow wars and famine and ethnic cleansing and poverty and rape?
Why allow unwanted children and illiteracy and pestilence and disease?
Why allow war after war after war after war after war after war to be fought in your name?

Why do you seem to be a distant and uncaring god?

Those, i think, would be among the first questions to come tumbling from my mouth.

Have a coke and a smile and learn to swim in case there's another tidal wave.

On second thought, I'd like to know what happens to all of my socks that seem to disappear in the wash.

Strange, but although I think it's natural to ask God questions (and I do all the time!), I also think it's irrelevant, to a degree. The reason? Because I think it isn't possible for us to encompass who or what God is, to begin with.
