yes I would.
The important thing in a relationship is that both partners feel good with eachother, because they have to live together. You don't have to avoid someone, because your family doesn't like this person. Find out for yourself, it's your life, not theirs!

Yes I would - its you that is dating this person, not your family. You can make your own choices in life and if that means dating someone that your family does not approve of than thats their worry. Now if this person has abusive traits and your family disapproves because of this than that is a diffrent story. Basically just follow your heart and do whats right for you.

Take into consideration what your family has to say. If its your safety they are concerned about then yes, you should listen to them. Sometimes our families know us better than we know ourselves and they see in other people things that we turn a blind eye to. Don't be rushed into any decision. Go out on mini dates to test the water. You'll make the right decision.

Yes. It would be difficult, but if you know this is the person that is right for you, just be strong. I will urge you, however, at least pay attention to your family, who only have your best interests at heart. If I had listened to my parents, I would not have endured an 18-year long TERRIBLE marriage. Best wishes.

well, if it's just going out than i don't see the problem.. just know your limits especially when your family disapproves.. but i am sure there is a sound reason as to why your family disapproves.. so listen to mommy and daddy and be an obedient girl..

yes, if your family doesnt like the person, it's probably because they don't know the person like you do. my older brother married a girl my whole family really didn't like at all, but as time passed we all got to know her and now she's part of the family! so there's always hope

do u mean dislikes?
and yes i have.
well my older brother could not stand him when we were in our high school religion class. He kept going on and on how annyoing he was and that he couldn't stand him and wanted to beat him up.
But i kept to myself that i liked him. then a few years later we started to date. but right now we are just really close friends *hes in the army*
but it shouldn't really matter what your family thinks. i thought my mom also didn't like him but here...she didn't have a problem with him....as long as i was happy she was happy.

No, I dated a guy once that my family didn't like and the minute I realized they didn't like him, I dumped him. Part of the reason was once they told me what they didn't like I realized how much i didn't like those things either and what a big deal they really were.
