You don't... you have to take the chance that you might embarrass yourself, that's just how it goes!

The other day after hanging out with my guy 'friend' and still not getting up the nerve to say anything, I ended up doing it by email. I know, super lame, right? I started it out with "sorry to do this by email, but I get so chicken-sh** in person..." and said what I had to say... and ended with "if I'm off base here, that's fine, I just hope I didn't make things too weird because I'd truly hope to have you as a friend either way." Long story short, turns out he felt the same all along and just didn't say/do anything out of the same fear of 'making things weird'. But really, what makes things more weird is having that feeling and not acknowledging it!

Just figure out how you want to say/do it and just go for it. You have nothing to lose except maybe feeling like a dork for a little while... Or you just might get pleasantly surprised. :)

give him compliments and say how nice he looks. maybe if he forgets his money you could buy him what he wants, he should get the hint. if not then just whisper in his ear 'don't laugh but i like you' or text or phone if you don't like the face to face way.
