If PLG was to leave Rangers (maybe in 2 or 3 years) in a bad state, would Rangers appoint a manager who has never managed before, if he played for Rangers or was considered a Scottish Legend?

Just wondering what you think about that idea

They've done it in the past with Souness (and he was not even a Rangers legend at the time) so why not. But remember PLG will have just won his second championship by then and will be riding high in the champions league!!!

In the circumstances you mention the answer has to be no. The fans would not allow that and remember they had the experience with John Greig whom they voted as their greatest ever player. If PLG goes ( and I hope he doesn't) I think Rangers would be looking for a British Manager and someone like Terry Butcher would be a popular choice. If Richard Gough makes up his mind about where he wants to live he could also be a candidate but he would have to get himself back into the game as a Manager. For starters they need to get McCoist into the backroom staff. They made a big mistake in letting John Brown go as the club runs deep in his veins.A hard commodity to come by in these days of overpaid Players.

Don't think PLG would be given 2 or 3 years if the mighty Ger's hit rock bottom? But i don't think the fans would allow the chairman to appoint someone with no experience. After PLG, i think somebody like Super Ally or Terry Butcher?

depends on the chairman at the time, quite how bad PLG has been (based on this simulation) and how good/old the player is.

PLG will come good, only 12 games played and people are writing him off! Butcher should never set foot in Ibrox again for his comments he made in his autobiography, he's not welcome!

If Le Gaffer doesn't succeed bring in super ally, I think he would be a great manager for any team.
