I started dating this guy 2 weeks ago. He is not the type of guy that I normally date, he is nice, has a great job and is doing the sweetest things for me. He has bought me flowers, made me breakfast, brought me to the beach to watch the sunset and brought wine and fruit. Just a very genuine person with a huge heart! The only problem is that I am not so sure that I am attracted to him, but that shouldn’t matter right, that’s just me being catty? My family met him last night and thinks that he is a great guy and very personable. I woke up very smitten and all smiles until I talked to my sister. Asked her if she thought he was cute, she said no. I start to freak out and now I can’t stop it. I feel like I am potentially making a big mistake, like I have starting something that I am not sure I can follow through with. I don’t really know how to accept a guy who does wonderful things for me, it makes me run. I am not really sure why I am freaking, and I am not really sure what my heart is telling me to do because it is flooded with thoughts!

I went through something similar, I got scared by being treated nicely, and was gonna run. After being in crappy raltionships, abusive ones, too; its weird to find a guy who treats you with the respect you deserve. It doesn't matter if others think your new guy is cute or not, we are all gonna get old & wrinkley! What matters is how you feel when you're with him. You should really give this guy a chance, he sounds great! When you two get closer, you can open up more and share your thoughts & fears, for all you know he could be going through some of the same & be wondering if you're like others he's dated in the past.

Women are usually attracted to "bad boys" Honestly, I had the best luck with women when I was pissed at them (after a bad breakup) and didn't care and treated them crappy. Seriously, they were all over me. But it didn't ever last, it was just short term fun. In the future you will find yourself either stuck with a total jerk with no hope of being treated kindly, or you will get over it and stick to a guy that treats you good. Don't pass up a good thing. Don't worry if others think he's cute. Do you think he's cute? Does cuteness matter in the long run. Hell, we all get fat and wrinkly some day :)

Honey you just need to calm down. I understand that you have problems having people do nice things for you. i am the sames way....
Just because he is not cute isn't that big of a deal. If you like him that is all that matters....Try to be the bigger person and like him for him and not what he looks like.
Ignore your sister, tell her that if she doesn't like him she can shove it.
You were happy until she said something, so just BE HAPPY! don't let what other people say bring you down. You deserve to be happy
Good Luck and Best Wishes.

As crazy as it sounds, I understand what you are talking about. I was treated so badly for so long that when a nice guy came along I was afraid to give him a chance. I did and he ended up hurting me too but I never would have known if I didn't give it a try.

I know exactly what you are going through. I met my boyfriend through work at lunch. He was a friend of a girl him and i were friends with. After my friend introduced me to him i pretended he was not there and just talked to my friend. After that i left. Then later on that day my friend told me that he thought i had pretty eyes.. about a week later my friend was fired and in the lunchroom me and my other friend would tease him telling him if he missed his girlfriend and just teasing him.. .he kept flirting with me after that day after day in the lunchroom. He was not my type i kept telling my friend. He asked me for my number for a week and didn't give it to him till finally one day i gave it to him. Then he wanted to take me out on a date... took another week for that and since then we have been together. We have been together for 10 months now. I couldn't have asked for a better guy in my life. Give the guy you are with a chance he deserves that much... I am like you too... been hurt tooo many times...

Just date him you don't have to get married hell its only been two weeks! Besides you are too shallow and need to grow up before getting serious with him or anyone else.
