either one might help, that depends on you. meds work for some people, getting back into life works for some people. i would recommend trying A first, and if you don't feel any different, try B. At least that way you know you tried to help yourself naturally, and it will be more likely that you really do have a chemical imbalance that needs to be corrected with meds if A doestn work for you. Good Luck!

I would get the meds straightened out, but not go to the hospital. I would continue to see your friends and take part in life, and be sure to tell them what you are going through. I would not make any permanent decisions right now, like getting a pet. Dating is hard when you don't feel yourself, and may confuse/hurt your partner.
I have found when I am depressed and I try to jump into life, that I do not always make the smartest decisions, like overspending or sleeping with somebody, so I would be cautious about this.

If this is an ongoing problem I'm sure you've heard it all before from the doctors, but if there is a possibility of coping without medicine that is always better. A relationship with God always helps too. Actually helps the most quite honestly. If these suggestions do not suit you try going on Effexor. I take it for anxiety and have found it to be the only medication for this problem that does not leave me feeling void and careless. Hope this helps!!! I'll pray for you.

BOTH!!
Live life, BE with your friends for sure, you'll need their support.
I do suggest NOT GETTING A PET until your meds are straightened out. You don't need the responsibility of someone else's life when it seems your own is not in order.
PLEASE see a doctor, get your meds straightened out, learn some coping skills, start hanging out with friends, get involved in clubs or hobbies or sports (AVOID ALCOHOL!!) And live your life. When things are solid again - then consider a pet, and dating...

If you are already on meds and feel that they are not helping, you should definitely get that straightened out. The wrong meds or the wrong dosage could be a big reason why you still feel depressed. Get that fixed and see how you feel.......

see your doctor. often times treating depression is trial & error to find the right combination of drug(s) & dosages. every person is different.
getting back into life is also important. doing things to get your mind away from yourself helps.
good luck!
