I've known this girl for 10 years now, and she is truly the nicest person to be around. I've had a crush on her for 5 years now, and everytime I seem to build up the courage to ask her out, she is already taken. Then the other night at a halloween party I started Texting her and telling her how I felt and she told me her boyfriend makes her sad and she doesnt really like him anymore, and it was really flattering that I liked her so much. Then towards then end of the conversation she completely changed her tone and said I was joking her and was drunk and needed sleep...Then the next day we was hanging out with some friends and she didn't even mention that night, but she hugged me when I was leaving. She normally didn't do this before, but I doubt it actually meant anything. But my question is, should I continue to wait for her and try to ask her out, or just leave her alone? I mean, I've waited 5 year, so whats another one? I've never felt this way about anyone, and I doubt I ever will.

You need to sit her down and have a serious talk, when she is sober xD

you need to tall her how you truly fell about her and if she has the same feelings for you or if she just wants to stay friends. Tell her that you need to move on with your life if she doesn't return the same feelings.

You shouldn't have to put your life on hold, Take the leap and see what happens : )

Good luck and Best wishes

Ask her... what is going on with the boyfriend? remind her that she is a genuinely wonderful person and she deserves better than that. Tell her you're concerned because you hate to see people unhappy that you care about. It may come as a surprise but -gasp- some people do openly tell their friends how great and important they are.

Sounds to me like she was sort of flirting, and then trying to pretend she wasn't... but being with a SO that you're not happy with can make you do stuff like that... it's a confusing time and she needs to deal with that first.

You don't want to be her rebound-guy... but you can certainly start dropping hints that she can respond to when she is ready.

Well, it sounds like she likes you too, but she's afraid to show that she likes you because she doesn't know if you were serious or not since you had been drinking. She doesn't want to put herself out there and look like an idiot, just in case you were just being a typical guy who flirts when they're drunk. But, you need to really sit down with her and discuss this with no alcohol involved so she knows you're serious. Just break it down, tell her how you've felt and see what happens.

Get the nerve ask her out on a date, whats the worse she says no, and if she does hopefully it does not ruin your friendship and you will know she is only a friend and nothing more! Good luck.

Well, let her know how you really feel, don't leave anything out, because if you truly express your feelings, then you may have luck with her.
