swollen lymph gland occurred about 7 months ago with temperature -- reoccured 3 weeks ago with temp and intermittent swelling of lip and swollen gland in scrotum in 4-year-old

This needs to be diagnosed by a doc. If this hasn't been thoroughly checked out by the doc then get this checked to find out what is going on.

agreed...check with a doctor...
Swollen glands are signs of infection...There are lymph nodes in the neck, under arms and scrotum areas , as well as other places. These Lymph node produce white blood cells to fight infections. Swollen glands mean these nodes are active making white blood cells.

Make an appointment with your MD. Wondering if the symptoms are currently going on or resolved. Try to get him in when symptoms are present or they will not be likely to do much except to tell you to bring him in when it is happening.
