What would you say to him - if you had a chance to speak to him?

To the idiot who says that the Army enlists those without a high school diploma, you are dead wrong. In order to serve, you have to have a high school diploma or GED. Get your facts straight.

If I had the misfortune to be in the same place as the idiot Kerry, I would say "Move to France where you belong you traitor."

It sounded worse than he meant it--but a planned speech should have been written better than that!

He only said that we send losers to Iraq, not that all the guys in Iraq are losers. (Some serve in the military for other reasons, but you really can't deny that the military is a last resort for many people.) He did imply it a little, by mentioning other opportunities for successful students. He was trying to jab at both the war policy and the education policies, and put his foot in his mouth big time.

I do think its funny that a lot of people care more about what a candidate says than what they do. I thought everyone knew that most pols lie and spin, and that the proof is in their actions. Kerry needs to shut up unless he plans to run again--he already lost an election because he can't talk.

I think the most amazing thing is that people actually believe it was a joke or that it was intended for Bush. No part of that speech had anything to do with Bush or the White House. Nobody has put a bad spin on it. Kerry said what he said and he meant it. It's taken for exactly what it is....a slam at American troops. Kerry's whole life has been a fake and filled with lies and talking out of both sides of his mouth. Everyone knows that he submitted himself for those Purple Hearts and that they weren't earned. It was all a plan to make him look good in the future. Unfortunately, his mouth keeps getting him in trouble and proves what he really is. This time, his silver foot is embedded in his mouth. People can try to cover for him all they want. They can try to defend him. All you have to do is read the transcript for the speech and you'll know it was no joke, nor was intended for Bush or the White House.

If I were to meet him face to face, I'd probably want to kick him in the nuts. Since he has none, I'd suggest that he put is big head in between Hillary's legs and let her squeeze. He's an idiot and he keeps providing evidence as to why he couldn't win the last election.

He didn't say anything about our soldiers. Another Republican smear and swiftboating. Anybody with a fair mind, and that's not Conservatives, know very well he said to stay the course with your education or your options might be being stuck in Iraq, that is, you will end up having a life that is like this damn war....

I however, will in fact state here that according to the news at CBS online and other places also, the military has recently lowered its standards to dispense with the requirement for a high school diploma, saying that they need only people who can be trained to do soldiering and you don't have to have a high school diploma to handle that. So it is true that undereducated people are welcome in the military. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing, and not that that diminishes the value of our soldiers to the country.

It was dispicable how he tried to transition talking about Bush's academic record in a "joke" without making it clear that's what he meant. By doing so, he made it sound as if he were cutting down our troops for lack of education and being penalized by having to serve in the military for not getting better educated. You and I know some of the smartest people are in the military and proud to serve anywhere, including Iraq. He tried to say Bush is stuck in Iraq, but as always, he fumbled his words and cannot carry out even a poor "joke" as he called it

I think it sucks big time. The guys over there have enough to contend with. Without crap like that being said.
For Kerry's information, it takes highly skilled people to operate the high tech weapons of today.
When he was in, all you needed to know was how to pull a trigger.

Another example of the mouth running before the brain is in gear. If he was trying to slam Bush, he should have said something about him, not the military. My husband served proudly and he has a college degree.
Kerry should make sure he has his information straight before he runs his mouth.

Regardless of how he made the statement, what he meant, and how it was interpreted, facts are facts. how many people do you know who studied hard got a degree and then enlisted in the military??? Words are like water on a duck if you are secure in who you are. Conservative Republicans saw that the statement could be construed a couple of different ways and latched on out of pure desperation.
