In the way longa ago it was considered celtic or even satanic. Today it is just a time for children of all ages to dress up and have some fun. Others participate in giving candy to children that come to the door in a costume. I personally love to see the children all dressed up and smiling. In Mexico and maybe some other spanish countries They refer to it as the Day of the Dead. They believe the spirits are more apt to walk the earth and they even leave food out for them and light candles.
I hope that helps you understand more

bonjour! Halloween began as a pagan festival in some countries and then, like Christmas, was exploited by capitalists to make money. I hope that answers your question. Don't worry about your English, it's as good, if not better, than some English people who write here.

Your English is fine. Yes We celebrate Halloween. It is a Druid celebration. It has been an institute for many years in the US. Mostly it's a children's holiday where they dress up, and adults have costume parties.

salut Atreyu!
Yes, they do. Both in America and in England. Unfortunately, they try to do it in France, but it's just a way for companies to make more money. I think we have enough of bank holidays as it is, don't you think?
Yes, I'm French. And yes, your English is pretty good!

Your English is fine.
We do have Halloween here - but it's not as big a deal as it is in the US.
It's mostly for kids and of course for companies to try and sell lots of plastic rubbish and day-glo sweets
