stays the same if you enroll in the same school

Ideally,a student"s id should remain the same while continuously enrolled!however,it now depends on the institution.this in effect means that,different universities operate on their various policies and calender.
In the university where i study,the id you are given from the onset remains the same all through till you graduate irrespective of changing semesters.i think this should be the standing principle.

Your student number stays the same the whole time your enrolled in that school unless the school changes its policy, but that is rare and expensive for them to do so, no it does not change. It is usually your social security number.

stays the same if you stay at the same school, because it gives the university/college a way to track a student's progress.
