A call comes in, you answer it, you want to transfer it to a different phone number, you hit the flash button on your phone, you hear three beeps then a dial tone, you dial the new number someone answers, you hang up and the original caller is connected to that 3rd party.

What is that called? Call forwarding? 3 way calling? I need to explain to my phone company this is what I want to activate the "flash" button option on my phone so I can do this.

Conference or Three way calling

Call foward is when some one calls your line and no one picks up or it is busy and it is transferred to another number/Ext.
