Yes...I agree with you. I think that if you are going to answer a question, whether you agree with it or not, that you should also be ready for a reply. I have met some really great people who have answered my questions or want to comment on an answer I left. And more often than not, I think its the rude and obnoxious ones who dont want you to be able to find them or reply to them.

I think it certainly adds to the depth of the forum here, but not everyone on the site is here for deep conversation or broadening their minds. Some people like use this site to unload their negativity and feelings of low self-worth onto others.
Though with having my email address listed, I have met some really cool people through this site and ended up having some great conversations and in turn, interesting "web friends". : )
Just my two cents though...
Ciao!

It sounds like a good idea, but people often get lots of hate mail from others who disagree with their views. I know many people who have had horrible email and instant messages from people, including death wishes. And when we choose to not activate email or IM, of course, we also eliminate the good people. I've often thought the same as you, though.

Unfortunately, I think that in such a huge general population, most people are hesitant to activate their emails to have intelligent discussions with one or two people and then be subject to not-so-intelligent emails from hundreds of others.
Sad, but true.

As for me, I don't want 2 activate my mailbox b'coz I have too many friends and I have many mails to read. Another reason is to prevent from people abusing my eMail by sending "funny" messages.
Hope you could understand some of us who don't want to activate our mailbox, we have our own reasons.
GOD bless

Depends what you want to talk to them about, I guess...but hmm, yes. I suppose they should have functional email addresses.

Yeah, I agree. Some feel they can not face the heat.
