Non Vegetarian. they result into a living being , the chicken. eggs cannot be compared to milk, cheese etc. for they are always meant to feed living beings.

Eggs are vegetarian, but not vegan. The Moosewood Cookbook (a famous vegetarian cookbook) uses eggs in many of the recipes. Milk is also vegetarian, but not vegan. Those two foods are kind of tricky -- not full, "real" animals, but they come from animals, and vegans reject them.
You need to ask your vegetarian. Some people say they are vegetarians, but they will eat fish. It all depends.

Well, depends on if they're fertilized or not, and the type of vegetarian. If they're not fertilized, then the not so strict vegetarians shouldn't have aproblem with eating them. But The strict ones (that don't eat ANYthing from animals, like cheese, milk, etc.) would have a problem no matter what. If they are fertilized, then they are non-vegetarian.

eggs are animal protein and not part of a vegetarian diet.
however there are vegetarians that do consume eggs
and other dairy products-they are call ovolactovegetarians.
lacto=milk
ovo=eggs
a true vegetarian or "vegan" would eliminate all dairy and animal products from the diet.
"alkalarians" take it a further step by eliminating dairy,animal,most fruits,wheat, and other "acidic" foods.

Lacto is a term used for milk or dairy, so a lacto-vegetarian will still eat things that contain dairy products.
Ovo is the term for eggs, so a person who is ovo-vegetarian will still eat things that have eggs in it.
A lacto-ovo vegetarian eats things that have both eggs and dairy.

eggs are vegetarian in that chickens dont eat meat so their by products dont either except for the chicken itself. vegans usually do not eat dairy so it depends on the person and their reason for vegetarianism.
