Of course. If you look at the raw data, however, without thinking about it logically, it would be easy to conclude cancer deaths are increasing. This is because so many people are not dying of cholera, dysentry, measles, mumps & infuenza nowadays that many of us live long enough to develop various cancers.

Yes, cancer goes back probably as far as man does. Carcinogenic chemicals are not the only things that cause cancer to develop.

People did not keep such accurate records of diseases and deaths as they do now. Also, people did not have the same degree of medical help or the ability to diagnose things as they do now. So many people died of diseases that they didn't even know they had.
