Hi. My doctor prescribed me Wellbutrin for depression and ADHD. He told me to take 75mg three times a day. He also instructed me to only start at 1 and then climb to three over three weeks. Well I took 2 yesterday and I haven't noticed anything. He said that Wellbutrin would give me more energy and I have actually been more tired. I have also heard that you lose weight with Wellbutrin and I have been more hungary. Has the medicine just not taken effect yet?

Ok, stop and think.

You need to discuss your results only with your doctor. Every patient is different, and sometimes they change the medication to see if it's working for you.

It takes about one month or two months for the real effects of medication to work completely. It's not instantaneous.

Give yourself time. Sometimes the tired feeling is due to depression, and you need to talk to your doctor about your feelings as medication is only one part of your therapy.

Give everything a try and please get the talking with your doctor a complete try, and don't let the doctor get away with just medication. You are a complete person and deserve to feel great with the doctor's care. Good luck and may all of your dreams come true. Why not make a dream diary of everything you want, and don't want in your life.
May GOD truely bless all of your dreams!

one 75 mg tab three times a day? doesnt it have a chance of causing insomnia if you take it after noon?

I'm on it right now for only depression. One thing your gonna learn right away is that you won't have every side effect of it. check the side effects of wellbutrin at www.webmd.com theres a whole helluva lot. Don't worry about the hunger part, i didn't lose my appetite until weeks into taking the medication. it takes a couple of weeks for the drug to actually start working on depression, so don't feel bad if your not feeling better.

As for the energy part, thats odd, seeing as I *thought* the energy was a given, since I got it right away because of how the pill is designed. perhaps your just sleeping badly on it, because your taking the medication late at night, and your getting boosts on energy when your asleep, causing your sleep to alot less deep causing you to not get enough? Its the only explanation I can think of...

Thats the only explanation I can think of. hope it helps.

Any medication takes time to work. You are not even to your full dose yet so give it time. Weight loss is not a common side effect with this medication, but neither is increased appetite. Fatigue is not one of the side effects people complain about with this medication, are you sure there is not some underlying problem that is causing these symptoms like pregnancy, anemia or a viral infection?
