Can you see a thought? Yet you think - the evidence being that you asked a question. Can you see an emotion? Yet you feel - the evidence being that you are uncertain. The evidence for God is everywhere, in a child's smile, the dew on the grass, the oxygen we breath. My personal conversion was because I read the 22nd Psalm instead of the 23rd Psalm - I knew really nothing about Christianity at that time. When I read the Psalm, I realized that someone, somewhere had to have foreknowledge of the future as it discusses in detail the crucifixion of Jesus - written before crucifixion existed and before Jesus was born. God is real, so is Jesus and if you come to Him with an open heart, He will reveal Himself to you. May the Peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Hi there, here`s how I see it,and no offence intended.
we all have unhealthy leanings of pride which keeps us stubborn, and we will just not yield to sensible truth.
when someone of good moral standing makes a statement about something, we are morally bound to listen and give that statement consideration that it may be true.
it would be an offense to say that over the past 2,000yrs men and women of good morale standing, are nothing but liars.
Before the Gospels were written down these were the type of people who passed on the truth of their faith experience and even died for it,how many countless thousands have done the same.
the Apostles nearing their deaths put down in words their honest experience of Jesus which we have to this day, and it only takes a little humility to to admit that there had to have been something
concrete in all this.
You see you can never see the light if you stubbornly block it out.

We hear radio news & believe it , but we don't see what happened! This is more true in todays world, we get so many mails or news letter to what is happening in different parts of the world!
The point is, hearing or reading is the best process to aquire knowledge. We may not see God, it does not mean, God does not exist.
May be there is God, and the message of God is present in Bible/Koran/Bhagavad Gita; which is but another form of RADIO message??
Otherwise, by own effort is would be impossible to know God. Since we are imperfect in 4 ways :
1) Human beings are sure of commit mistakes.
2) We live in illusion. Our senses can present some thing is as something else, just like we see mirages in desert.
3) The senses are imperfect, so what ever knowledge we gather remains imperfect or subject to regular ammendments/changes.
4) Humans can cheat because he has no perfect knowledge.
With all these 4 defects it is quite impossible to research about God. May be God has already given knowledge about Himself in scriptures. So, we should take an unbiased look at scriptures, and try understand Him with a cool head.
Also there is limitation to our power of seeing. We cannot see without sun or light. Or our seeing is totally dependent on sun or light. So the best way to attain knowledge is not by seeing, but by hearing from authentic sources of knowledge.

Other people I believe were real, but the only evidence I have is books written by men: Plato, Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great...
That people would lay down their life for their beliefs in Jesus is pretty significant...and I am not talking modern martyrs, I mean the people who lived at the same time as Jesus.

Its a poorly written question, whether you're on the right lines or not. You have much to learn.... but I shall attempt to explain it to you.
Christians and reality don't mix. Christians do not -like- reality. They want to live in a fantasy world... and that would be all just fine and dandy if it wasn't for the fact that they want to drag everyone else in with them.
In any case, because they have denied reality through failure to understand it... they have basically decided that understanding or indeed connection to reality is no longer needed. They can believe in anything, no matter how unreal, and be absolutely sure that it has existed....Whether it has or not never features.
Its best not to think about it too much really.
You won't get any sensible answers from the christians themselves as sadly they have pulled the veil of fantasy over their eyes and sacrificed their ability to reason.

I don't know for sure if Jesus really existed or not but what I like is the message He conveys. Be kind and helpful to others. Treat others the way you want to be treated. That's just common decency. If we don't have something or someone to believe in then what's the point of living or growing? Jesus preaches love. We can't see it but we can definately feel it and by feeling it we know it exists.

Ah, but alot of people saw Jesus, walked with Jesus, witnessed His miracles and were even touched and healed by Jesus. Not only did God's chosen authors write about Jesus, but so did others such as Tacitus & Suetonius who were Roman historians, also Josephus who was A Jewish historian. Jesus did not hide himself then, nor does He now. His heart is opened to each of us. It is sad when disbelief is the barrier keeping someone from His promises and His kingdom.

I have never seen a Colobus monkey. However I am not so arrogant as to think my not having seen them somehow magically forbids them to exist, or makes them warrant disbelief.
Likewise I've never seen the Messier M52 spiral galaxy (pictures don't really count.) It is millions of light years away, and I will never see it. Should this same arrogance cause me to doubt that to?
We all - all of us, you inclusive - believe in some things we haven't seen. The question is not do we or don't we, but which ones will we believe?

You cant see air, but you can't live with out it. You dont' have to see the air with your eyes, to be able to breathe it.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
I am a born again Christian, and I see Jesus every day of my life since I accepted Him as my savior at age 11. I am now 48 years old. What I can't see with my eyes, I see with my heart. I can also hear Him as well when He speaks to me. You don't see Jesus because you are not willing to of your free will that He gave you.
If you have ever had a gut feeling sometime in your life that made you feel that you were about to do something that you shouldn't do, (everyone has some time in their life) well that is Jesus speaking to you. You at the time did not know it was Him. You don't have to see with your eyes , what you can see and feel with your heart. That is the basis of faith.

You are looking at it like everybody else looks at it.You are being predictable. Many years ago Jesus said, blessed are the ones who believe and have not seen.He knew all those years ago that doubt would be a stumbling block for people. To have said that thousands of years ago has got merit.
Why in the world would the apostle Peter make A complete 180 in his faith if it wasn't true.He went so far as,when they crucified him,he told them to crucify him upside down because he was not worthy of dying the same way our lord died.
Remember, blessed are the ones who believe and have not seen.
