Well i'm not a medical doctor but, one would think that your son would get addicted to it along with becoming immuned to it so when he actually does need it , it won't help him. If it were my son i'd SMACK the father so hard up beside his head that his mother would feel it. That is wrong of him to do this to a child, nothing like getting him hooked on the high feeling nyquil can sometimes offer. I as a parent would crack down and do something before it gets totally outr of control. good luck with your son and I pray their will be no long lasting effects.

first of all this "father" doesn't sound like a real good father if he's basically drugging his child into going to sleep
it's not safe to give any of that medication to someone on a daily basis because it will eventually harm the child's liver and kidneys - some medication is hard for the body to metabolize which just makes the liver work harder and harder
I'd call your family doctor for more information on this subject...

Let's just forget for a moment that this is just plain wrong and tell your husband that giving medicine, any medicine everyday even in small doses does damage to livers, kidneys and goodness knows what else. If this doesn't convince him, have a conversation wth the child's doctor...He can be more specific on the damage that can occur.

You son is old enough to testify against his father. His father is abusing him. Yes, that's right...ABUSE. Get him into court right now. If you do nothing to stop this, you could be charged with neglect later on. I think you know the long term effects of drinking alcohol every day.....right? He's turning him into an alcoholic right in front of you.

The father can be arrested for child endangerment for one thing.
The child is probably addicted. How sad that a mother would allow such a thing to happen to her child. I hope somehow that what the father is doing and your allowing it is found out by the authorities. He should be removed from your custody.

It will mess w/ his tolerance to it so when he really needs to be taking it, it wont work or he'll have to take more - which is not recommended.
