Oooh, I hate in-between bangs, too.
http://www.hair-styles.org/hair-grow-faster.html says that hair grows about half an inch each month, so it will take awhile.
For inbetweens, have you considered cutting your long hair to chin-length? The fringe will catch up that much quicker.
Barrettes are OK; a hair band will work. You can also try curling your fringe to keep it out of the way. Scarfs, in a kind of 60s fashion throwback, will also keep it out of the way.
Actually, ever since I found this really great hairstylist, my bangs grow out very nicely. They turn into wings, then finally blend in to the rest of my hair. Part of it is that I have naturally wavy hair, but part of it is the great cut my hairdresser gives me. He seems to work best from a "blank slate" so to speak, so I always let them grow out quite a bit. You might try getting a different stylist.

This is hard to explain but here I'll try because it really works great. Let's say you part you hair to the left. Take a little more hair from the front, toward the forehead, and bring it over to the left. Then comb it down and sweep it over so it is not in your face. The fringe bangs will be covered up and the extra hair will help keep them at bay while they are growing out. That is what I have been doing and showing my clients. It really works and I hope that you understand what I am trying to explain.

The average head of hair grows 1/2 inch a month. Some faster, some slower. You need to 'dust' the ends of your bangs to keep them healthy and prevent splitting, and you need to cut more off the rest each month so the bangs catch up.

Do not cut it at all....wear the bangs parted a bit to keep off eyes....in a short time they will grow out and you'll finally have them where you want them...yes the in between stage is annoying...but isn't the result so pleasing if you put up with the annoyance for one time instead of many times like you are?

hair grows about 5-6 milimitres every 4 weeks so you will need a while to grow it out
the other option would be to cut rest of you hair a little shorter to that they 'meet' sooner

Hair grows approximately one-inch per month for a normally healthy person. Good luck growing out your fringe - I've never managed to do it myself as the scissors always end up in my hand going snip-snip.

use some cute little bobby pins or barrettes to hold your bangs back in a side sweep part. this is a cute look and before you know it your bangs will be where you want.
a short term compromise yields a long turn gain!
good luck and happy growing!

Bangs grow at the same pace as the rest of your hair unless they are more damaged. Keep them trimmed so they grow faster, and pin them back to keep them out of your face.

I got my hair cut about a month and a half ago, i had NO bangs.. i didnt want them, i got about 4 inches taken off my hair, and she gave me bangs, it was awful, they sat right on the top of my eyes irratating me, i hated it, anyways, i just straightened them, let them sit there, theyre almost to the tip of my nose now, so theyre less irratating, just wait, they ARE frustrating but if you give it a couple months youll be satisfied with it. =]]
