Thanks for ur reply Tom 1. I dont know anything about the breed.. ur right.... hence i asked this question. as her parents and her siblings were all from rescue centre i didnt get time to look up about them but am still happy with my purchase. They were advertised as miniature jack russells and in comparing with another jack russell pup at the shelter she is quite small. I have just done a google search and they Miniature Jack Russell are mentioned as a breed of their own... Thanks again for the reply. x

they are very difficult to train and not the brightest bread can be agressive my mum has one little terror she is also rescue and she seems to be very grateful for every act of kindness given. Word of advice be sure that you are totally in charge and she knows it because they are known to try and dominate the situation and once they are boss there is no wining so be tough - not cruel and be in charge you will then have a great little dog.
Also I would like the make the point that you can buy a rescue dog we did for our beagle. He was "bought" because the beagle rescue home asked for a donation of £120 for the dog therefore we bought him and he most certainly was a rescue he was 4 months when he came to us and had been moved from 3 homes in that time and was not wanted

If you had researched before your purchase, you would know: terriers are not easy to train, very energetic, and tend to be big barkers - plus, the Jack Russell (now Parson Russell at AKC) wears the crown for being the 'most' terrier! Hence, if you go to any rescue site, it is why they are overwhelmed with Jack Russells & the breed club is asking people to re-home a rescue, not buy a puppy.
Since you are in it now: Get a good breed book (the 'for dummies' series are excellent) & several training books, read, learn & apply. Sign up for puppy kindergarten classes at a local training club (your vet can give you the names of good training clubs) ASAP. Good luck!
p.s.: Sorry if you feel I had a 'tone', but don't you think it is wise to research & try to get a dog thats breed (or breeds in it's mix) personality profile fits into your family's lifestyle - considering it will be in your home & life for 10-15 years? I saw too many 'snap decision/flavor of the week' breeds dumped or suffered through by people when I worked for the vets. It gets to a person.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aL1mA
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

The most natural and healthy diet for humans is an omnivorous diet, and not a plant based diet, or a meat-based diet per se. The Paleo Diet can be very widely varied and omnivorous for the most part, but the most important thing is that it’s unprocessed, and avoids the worst foods that agriculture brought mankind… refined inflammatory vegetable oils, refined grains (some are worse than others), and sugar! Learn here https://tr.im/PnB9O
As you can see, the benefits of adopting a Paleo way of eating can be incredible! I’ve been eating 95% Paleo for the last 5-6 years and I’ve never felt better. I have dozens of friends that have adopted a more Paleo way of eating too, and have seen all sorts of health problems disappear, including eliminating acne and other skin problems, digestion problems, improving brain clarity, and of course, losing a lot of body fat!

Well done you have bought yourself a cracking trainable very intelligent dog.. As regards the other comments dogs are only aggressive if they are taught to be that way ( proven fact ).. The jack russell like all other dogs just wants to please all the time.. Do not forget that these are bred animals from working strains and one must never forget that.. So plenty of exercise and stimulation would benefit both you and the mjrt.. http://www.mjrt.co.uk/
