I mean, what is the point of an afterlife? We live so that life is better for those that follow. If not for the person who harnessed fire, the person who developed the wheel, Edison, Bell, Einstein, etc. we would not have the easy lives we have now. That is the meaning of life.

What is the meaning of an afterlife?

Not everyone's life benefits those who come after us. But I agree about the pointlessness of an afterlife.
In fact the idea of an afterlife may have a detrimental effect. You're not as concerned with improving the world now if you think there's a better one coming up in a few years.

I do not believe in an "afterlife." I do not believe Christians will be sucked up into heaven before the Apocalypse, or that our souls will be separated from a rotting corpse to be with God.

I do believe in the Resurrection. This is not an afterlife, but the fulfillment of life. It is God making humanity whole. The point is that humans can love and honor each other the way that God loves humans, and that we can love God as God loves us.

The truth is the afterlife is everlasting. The praise of God, the rejoicing for the saved, and being with loved ones.

This life has many trials, tests of our faith, and tribulations from persecution. The afterlife has no death, no pain, no sorrow, no tears.

The afterlife is your soul's reward, to re-connect with our God. Or you can see it as the consequence of life.
