I'm18 years old, 5'9" and 210 lbs. I run stairs and run outside a few times throughout the week. It seems like nothing will work. I want to strength train but I don't have the means to do it. Is not strength training effecting my weight? I don't really care about how much I wieigh I just want to be slimmer.

I'm a male, I pretty much only drink water, with the occaisonal soda every now and then. I stay away from fast food, when I do eat out I get sub sandwiches, could those be the problem?

I know this probably sounds crazy, but eat more often. No not big meals. Studies have shown that instead of eating 3 big meals a day, you can eat 6 small meals and you'll lose more weight because it helps boost your metabolism. Having good metabolism makes dailey activities burn more calories. Hope this helps and good luck.

Strength training will really help. If you dont have dumbells (which you can get at Target for not too much, btw), try doing water bottles or canned food you have around the house. It's ok if it doesnt feel heavy to you at the beginning. If youre arms arent tired after 3-4 sets of 15, well then you need to go get some dumbells. Try bicep curls, kickbacks, and overhead press. You can do crunches, squats, and lunges for your legs and those dont require a gym membership.
Also, up the cardio. Make sure your heart rate is up for at least 20 min a day, 3x per week. You can do cardio every day, so if you can do stairs for about 30 min a day, 7 days a week, the weight should come off. If it's not, you might need to see a doctor.

Are you male or female? males tend to lose weight much easier than females due to their muscle mass. You say you run stairs and outside "a few times" but for how long? it should be for atleast 30 min. at a time. I also recommend lowering the bread, or anything white inyour diet. Do you drink a lot of caffeine? Soda, coffee, and tea are a lot of empty calories. Increase your water intake and step up the wieght training. Muscle really does burn more calories. High impact exercise will burn more, too. Good luck!

You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

You really have to go above and beyond what your body is used to. Push yourself to go farther and faster so to speak. The key is to burn more calories than you consume. You should also do some strength training to help tone and define your muscles which will help you to appear slimmer by providing lean muscle mass. Good luck!

Do cardio six times a week for 30 minutes or more. Eat less, don't eat fast food. Don't drink regular pop. Drink a lot of water each day.
