I had H.P. Image Zone Plus on my computer which desided to stop workiing on me. I found it easy to use ( I am not good with fancy dancy programs). I am looking for a new program to buy that is easy to use, crops, zooms, changes things to jpg, etc. Some recomandations of programs people use would be greatly aprreciated. Since it isn't working anymore I can't edit my picture for printing. I have a Fuji camera ( I do have the software for it but don't care for it). I am not a proffecianal potographer, just a Mom that loves pictures. Thanks.

Faststone image viewer is the best. You can get it free from download.com.
I also had Image Zone Plus and something happened to it. It took me weeks to find a comprable program.
Try Faststone (if it's still free). There are no limits on using the program and it's the best one I found. I downloaded and tried at least a dozen before finding that one. Picasa was one of them and I found it much more time consuming and harder to learn quickly. I didn't even have to use a manual with Faststone.
Good luck!

Photoshop Elements is a simplified version of the "real thing." It is easy enough to learn so that you can perform the functions you describe, but if you want to really learn how to move up to the next level, it's there waiting for you.

The current issue is Photoshop Elements 5.0 and it is available at http://www.adobe.com for $99.00. It's in stores like Staples, Best Buy or Circuit City, too.

Paint Shop Pro has many of the features of Photo Shop with much less of a learning curve and an easier price to swallow. I have used it for years as do many other photographers.

For just plain easy to use I recommend MGI Photosuite. It isn't very expensive. It lets you work on the images. It lets you put together collages, picture packages, and scrapbook albums. It lets you organize and email pictures.

I like Picasa from Google. It's free. You can download it here. http://picasa.google.com/ . You can do basic editing and it organizes all the images on your hard drive.
