depend what sort of accom, if your are plannning on eating out every meal etc... if you are planning on getting taxi's, or public transport or if you are going to do some serious shopping or going to go out and drink every night??
Accom per night.. anywhere from $80 - $350 per night.. (quaint - to relatively nice)
Breakky per day.. $5 - $15.
Lunch per day.. $5 - 20.
Dinner per day.. $15 - 35. (all meals eating out)
public transport per day.. around $8 for all day pass..
Taxi's anywhere from $10-$60 depending on where you go.
Shopping... whatever you can afford..
Pubs & Night Clubs..
Beer per middy around $4 ...per pint around $7. Jugs around $13
Mixes around $6 -8 a glass.
shots around $5.
Movies
around $17.
Hopefully that will give you a rough idea of price's so you can figure out what you'll need to bring... personally I'd try and get a package with a hotel somewhere that may charge alot less if you are staying for a three week period (try and get them to through in breakfast and a few dinners free).. or if you are strapped for cash go online and check rentals that want student's or the like but explain you'll only be intown 3 weeks but ar willing to pay x amount for the week, offer a bit more than their rent and they'll probably be stoked to have you for a few weeks, and it'll work out a lot cheaper for you, and you'll probably score a few dinners and a couple of tour guides out of it!!

depending actually. as i stayed in perth for 3 weeks early last year yet i had a place to stay. i brought only AUS 1500 (for transport, food, etc) and still have like AUS 500 or more because I dont buy much stuff except mostly soverniors for family and close friends back home. But if you are going to get a hotel....then maybe more than AUS2k? Lots of luck to you!!

depends what you want to do. try $1000AU or more. it would be great if u took credit cards too. VISA, MasterCard, Am Ex, Diners...they are all used in perth. best to have cash on u in case some places dont have credit card machines.
Thomas Cook in the city can do currency exchange if u run out of money (thats if ur from another country)

Doesn't really make a lot of difference how much you take.
