At collage i'am learning about a programe called Frontpage 2003?

But i don't have this programe on my computer at home i was thinking is there a programe for me to download that is permanently free and is along the same line as Frontpage 2003.

if you simply want to learn HTML and try coding it the cheapest way it to just use a normal text editor to write your code and then use a normal browser to view it..

Ask if you can learn about a propper web design package and not a microsoft propriatry code based one.

The only thing I can recommend is to get hold of the free FrontPage Express from somewhere and use that. It may be on your windows installation CD but you proberbly don't have one of those because some idiot decided that pre-installed software was the way to go.

Yes, and you already have it. It's called Notepad. HTML/CSS, etc are all relatively simple text based scripting languages. Learn the hard way, and you'll be a far better programmer than suffering (the utterly abysmal) Frontpage with its dreadful code. Dreamweaver, if you need a programme to do it, is probably the best you can get. Not free however.

Frontpage is a Microsoft programme and it is not free. You could possibly obtain one but Bill Gates is getting fed up with people obtaining pirate copies of his software so be careful.

Good luck with that. The only free web design are the ones with all of the pop-up garbage. You can use yahoo, angle fire and a couple of other places to make a web page. However, they are not like Frontpage.

To be honest you would be better off learning HTML/CSS to create web pages then use a program that does it all for you and here is why,

1)unnessary amount of code
2)Lack of control compared to coding
3)harder to read code
4)Harder to compress the code (remove comments/spaces) to make files smaller for people to view on the internet
5)Can make dubclates of files (i.e images)
6)Loading a large appication to edit the files.
