I am in charge of the high school football banquest and need some ideas on centerpieces. I don't have a lot of money to work with but still want to be able to give these kids something they will remember.

Take four smaller pom-poms in the colors for your schools/organization/etc. (if you only have big ones, two will do at each table) Put two going in one direction, two facing the other diection, and you can then cover up their handles. Then you just spread them out just a bit to make a circle. Then get the very small football replicas or other fun sport items, and put them there as well.

If you would like, another easy idea are the very small orange cones used for track meets (most schools have a supply of these) and then you can put a few carnations (dyed for your school colors) inside them as a centerpiece.

All very cheap, with materials usually quite handy and themed.

Sprinkle some confetti (preferrably school colors, but mixture would be fine too) on the table tops, it's really pretty. Is this considered the 2006 season or 2007? Maybe you can find some clearance confetti from last years New Year's that include the year 2006 in it. New Year's items should be out now, for 2007. These items are best bought at a large party supply store.

Carnations are inexpensive flowers, give your florist some time to get them colored for you though. Glass vases are usually available at the dollar store.

Good luck & have fun!

Use old helmets or line a few and serve some snacks like chips from them. Or make mini goals as place markers or to hang names of different dishes on them. Print off little footballs to make a picture holder, and find a picture of each player, attach to the footballs and give to them as a keepsake. Have fun..and Good Luck !!!!
