I feel the one thing above all others that God has blessed us with (that is so forgotten by most) -- is LIFE!

God did not have to even give any of us the gift of life, and he did. We should never take life for granted. He gave us life on earth for a while, and if we deserve his bigger blessing, we will be blessed with eternal life in heaven with God.

I am an atheist, an ex-believer.
Everything I have or get is due to luck and intelligence....clean living doesn't come into the equation (that's not to say I don't have morals - I have a strong honesty and charity ethic - I am just promiscuous :-)
If I had been unlucky enough to have been born in Iraq, I might have been killed by an american bomb.
If I was born a fool, I might have joined the army and have been killed by american friendly fire.
luck and intelligence, thats all

Paul said we are better off not having a partner. Not because
there is anything wrong with a man or woman. But because
we will have to concern ourselves with pleasing our
partner, and caring for the material needs of the family. And
won't have any time for our spiritual needs.
Our Creator has "blessed" me with a funky body. A physical representation of the balance of the masculine and feminine in me. I'm male, (not hermaphrodite), but with female physical characteristics. Heavy chest, narrow shoulders, and wide hips. Not to mention coming up "short" in the sexual department.
And nobody wants me.
So I get to spend all my time glorifyng our Creator.

God blesses us with children. They are born innocent, and beautiful.I was blessed with three beautiful healthy children. Although my oldest daughter had cancer and almost died at the age of seventeen and had to have a bone marrow transplant she is thirty eight now. She has had many follow up operations and treatments since then but she is happy and lives life to the fullest. She has a great man who is the best guy I've ever met.I used to fight with God and want to fist fight him.I was so mad at him. But the night before one of her operations I couldn't take it any more and broke down and cried like a baby and begged Him to watch over her and take care of her. That was twenty years ago, and I thank Him everyday.
Some babies aren't born with perfect health, but they are still beautiful.

Hard work and clean living?

Hardly.
Everything is simply a result of causality... of the near-randomised events that have led up to it.... without any aim or goal intended. It is chaos in motion... and we're just another part of it from conception to death.

God? What god?! Don't make me laugh!

By definition, an atheist does not consider that anything he has is a blessing from a deity he does not believe exists. If he did so, he would not be an atheist.

Some things we take for granted I'm sure but if there was one thing and even though I say prayers in the morning it would be that I woke up.
