2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
1Th 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
1Pe 1:10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
Act 17:27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Joh 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
and many many more.
when you say "the church" that has a wide meaning but the true church of the first century did not do that. many times science and bible are in harmony.
Isa 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
men at one time thought the world was round but they discovered years later that it was round and the bible already said it.
Job 38:30 The waters hide themselves and become like stone, And the face of the deep is frozen.
The waters are hid as with a stone - Here is a reference to freezing in the winter.
AND THERE ARE OTHERS

Yes the Bible does say to go back and study your Bible. As for your last question. Over the ages we have seen that even t emost holy of men make mistakes. Some of us might be saved but we are still human. Now also notice that in most cases where the church condemned a scientist it was the Catholic church that did so.

The Bible tells us to study the Bible and reject the Quran. What does that have to do with our condemnation of scientists that try and use science to prove the Bible wrong. The Bible was authored by God and I will except it over the the writings of scientists. There are many things that science has taught throughout history that they themselves have proven to be wrong. So why is it that all of a sudden scientists are infallible? What do you do when two scientists disagree. Do you think that never happens?

2Tim.2:15 This is the study instructions.
2Tim.3:15-17 This is the reliability of it.
2Pet.3:13-18 there is much to look for in reward so do not twist the scriptures, they are [ as most things ], hard to understand, a large amount of information to sort through.
John 12:47.48 all are judged by the scriptures, they must be known. all learned brings us that much closer to these requirement.
Gal>5:19-23 the fruits of the spirit does apply. Asking The LORD God and Father for help in the name of his son Jesus John 14:14,15,17,28 and 16:23,26 study his prayer John 17:1-26;
SCIENCE
Gen.1:1,2 All exist here, time is evident as billions.
Gen.1:3-31 Time here is evident as being a very long time preparing the earth for habitation,
Gen,2:2,4 Heb.4:1-12; All perfect in Eden was LOST, the world must be SAVED in time and there must be a new heavens and a new earth, the time given in the bible for this ends 7,130 years,
1Tim.6:20 My so called science conclusion is the same general idea that some one else might get, the earth has every thing it need, it was well planned out that that be the fact, it could be assumed that created spirit realm creatures [ angels ], and flesh earth creatures [ humans ], might do as they have done and plans to handle that are still in process. That time is the only exact time given so all involved can prepare.

Most Bible scholars suggest that you can find justification for questioning all, including the very texts therein. The difficulty is that over the thousands of years this item has been in existance, every passage has been gone over again and again and again, and very, very little of the original wording can be identified. It's exceptionally difficult to determine whether what you're reading and studying is original or a compilation of many different opinions *about* what the passage says or means. The Bible does not actually tell you to study nature, the universe and science. Nor does it tell you to study mathematics -which is interesting because it was Islamic scholars who gave the world algebra! ---wow, aren't ya happy to know who laid that stuff on us? Gee, thanks, guys; as if my high school days weren't already miserable enough!

...and to follow on Erica H's comment, about the church believing that scientists are trying to prove that the bible is wrong - while I agree that may be what the church thinks, it is obviously not what scientists are trying to do. (In fact, something like 40% of scientists consider themselves very religious.)
The real problem is that science by its very nature explains the unexplainable. Religion on the other hand, relies on its mystical explanations as a source for its authority. If you get rid of the unexplainable, or even replace the mystical/religious explanations with scientific ones, then you are challenging and eroding the authority of the church. And what you end up with are the results that you see today: People either blindly believing what their religion tells them to believe and denying such things as evolution, dinosaurs, etc., or, people basing their lives around the facts of science and not having religion being their foremost occupation in life.
Its simply a matter of the church not wanting to lose anymore control.

There's no way the Koran can say that.I'm not being mean, what I mean to say is that if a Muslim researches his Koran,he will find out he is being lied to.
God wants us to test him,not tempt him.If you take a mouthful of sleeping pills and ask God to save you, that is tempting him.
Jesus Christ said blessed are the ones who have not seen, and believe.Jesus Christ knew back then that doubt would cloud the minds of people. Most people who throw off on the bible have never really stopped and discerned the scriptures.
As far as Islam and the Koran. It's history speaks for itself, and it's not pretty.

Yes, we are told to test the Spirit, we are told to try God. We are encouraged by fellowship to read the bible for ourselves.
So many scientists are not condemned by the church, just because you reject some idea doesn't mean you condemn it, that is like me telling a non believer that they "hate God" You cannot hate something you don't believe in. Secondly, I do "hate" the fact that some sciences are trying to be pushed on my kids as facts (when that happens) I won't stand for it not because it is science but because it is presented in a way that is NOT science. Such as "This is a fact" rather than "This is a theory" or trying to whore scientist such as "most scientists believe (or the ones that really matter)...."

Are you intense? The bible is God's be conscious or regardless of and once you're saying "properly do no longer basically study that reason it won't make experience study the pupil's writing too" then you definately're saying the bible won't make experience and you need to no longer ought to study any pupil's writing's to comprehend the bible. The bible is meant to be the words to stay by skill of and in case you need to extra comprehend it with pupils writing's then you definately know on your heart the bible is organic crap.

Scientists are not 'trying to disprove the bible' as stated in an answer above, they are only seeking the truth. It is the Church that tries to disprove the scientists when empirical evidence is presented that conflicts with their ancient dogmata.
