I need to be close to him

Pray to him to move in you and direct you in the path he wants you to take and not the one you would choose for yourself. Submit yourself to his will in all things. Spend time during the day prayig to him or simply communing with him and letting him know all of the things he has given you are appreciated.

How can you be close to someone when you don't even know their name? 'Lord' is a title not a name.
God's name is Jehovah.
That would be a start to drawing closer to Him.Careful examination of the Scriptures and learning about God's wonderful qualities all contribute for a closer relationship.Prayer is an important tool as communication is needed in all relationships
Why don't you go to your local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses,who would be only too happy to conduct a free home bible study with you and help you to draw close to our wonderful God,Jehovah.(James.4:8)

Pls do admit that u are a sinner and confess your sins to the lord who is faithful and just to forgive u, and also take Jesus Christ as your personal Savior then u communicate to him each and everyday of your life by reading the bible praying to him and joining other people for fellowship

Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We do this by praying...Admit you are a sinner, and realize that you are going to turn away from sin. Believe that Jesus lived a perfect life, and died on the cross so our sins would be forgiven. Then commit to live your life for him. Having this relationship makes you a Christian, and your relationship with Him should grow everyday. Once you become a Christian, you need to get baptized (that only shows you are a Christian, it doesn't make you one) and start to read your Bible and pray. If you have any questions, please email me.

Read His word and pray to Him. Ask Him to draw you closer. Surround yourself with God-loving people. Worship and praise Him in everything.

talk to him, worship him, pray, sing, go to church, they will give you advice, talk to a pastor
