Put it this way, if I was enclosed in an underground cave with thousands of wasps I wouldn't be best pleased! What are you afraid of, cos I hear people are afraid of buttons and zips amongst others!

I have a phobia and a hatred of spiders...I was bitten by a black widow when I was young and barely survived. The only spider I can tolerate is the wolf spider, since it eats other spiders.

I also am claustrophobic. I hate enclosed spaces. So if I was in an underground cave with spiders (except wolf spiders) I wouldn't be pleased!

I am terrified of birds. I have got better with time and they don't bother me if they are on the other side of the road but I definitely wouldn't walk near way and have sometimes walked ages out of my way to avoid birds! I won't set foot in anybodys house that has a pet bird. I hate the fact that I am scared by them as it does affect my life. I am unable to go over to the park at lunchtime with my friends as I end up just moving all of the time because of pigeons!!

Dogs. If I see a dog coming towards me I have to cross over the road and I can't go near a park. My sister and I were chased by an alsation when we were kids and it bit me really bad. I had to have 23 stitches and now have a really ugly scar on my thigh. I dream about being attacked by dogs all the time. It does my head in. I once tried hypnotherapy but it didn't work.

I am terrified of dead fish. I can eat fish (as long as it doesn't look like a fish e.g. fish cakes), watch fish happily in a tank and swim in the sea - just don't show me a dead fish! The thought of a dead fish floating in the sea hitting against my leg for example makes me physically feel ill just thinking of it. Or even worse - if someone tried to touch me with one. In the past, I have handled pet rets, an armadillo, stick insects, snakes, terrapins etc. I have been stung by a bee and insects don't worrry me. Why can't I overcome this phobia?

I don't have one but sympathise with those of you that do, especially if it is affecting your ability to live a normal life. Don't live with it and don't look forward to years of therapy to get over it. Click on this link http://www.hypnosisdatabase.co.uk:8080/hd/fmpro?-db=bsch.fp5&-lay=Table&-format=search.htm&-view and find a properly trained hypnotherapist in your area. Most phobias can be reduced to tolerable levels or eliminated in 1 - 4 sessions so get entranced and see your life enhanced.
