unfortunately the "sun-in" product is still available. I know that it is very popular, I have even used it myself. But please do not use this product if you also color or perm your hair, because the ingredients in the "sun-in" are not just lemon juice. It will effect any hair color service you get, and a perm will most likely not take. The product is okay to use if you do not desire any other services, UN TILL ALL THE "SUN-IN" PRODUCT GROWS OUT AND THAT HAIR IS CUT OFF. THE PRODUCT IS PERMANENT! lightening your hair should be left to the professionals. you can try lemon juice, but use caution it may dry your hair and it will only alter the color slightly.

It is still on the market in many countries.
By the way, Sun-In is not to get blond but to get a sun-kissed hair look. After spraying, you can hot blow it dry and you will get the same result.
Another way to get that without using Sun-in or having to spend days at the beach: rinse your hair with beer and spend sometime in the sun. Repeat and you will get the sun-kissed looks.
Chlorine in swimming pools has the same effect on hair, but on the long run.

it's off the market cuz people started making there own in spray bottles and it works as well! I was poor never could afford to get more then 1 bottle when i was a teen.
so lemon juice mixed with water will do the same thing! not 50 /50 more like water and a few table spoons of lemon juice .. natural works better fresh squeezed!
My mom told me about it i did it , it worked, she does hair for a living! well use to!
lol

Try Lemon Juice and then sit out in the sun to lighten it or try cammomille tea poured over your hair once it has cooled.

You can still buy it, but a home remedy is lemon juice. It does the same thing but dries your hair out.

they still sell it, but only in two strengths i think, at least that's what I've seen at the drug store. make an effort and look for it at local, smaller drug stores instead of in the big chains. or just order it on line.

No ideas on how to make your own, but the Walmart in my town still sells it. So does Meijer, I think...
