I cannot forget dates from the past or things what people have said to me, I suffer from repetitive thoughts, only when I used to go to church someone said maybe I think too much, this was on Feb 10 1990.

Obviously you are seeking help for what you perceive as some sort of mental problem but what you talk about sounds more like post traumatic problem than depression but if you have been dealing with this problem for 16 years why haven't you seen a professional who can diagnose and help you. If you are one of these people who think seeing a therapist means you are crazy get over it and get some help. You are not crazy you are like most of us as we all have problems.

what you have described doesn't necessarily sound like depression but it doesn't mean that you don't have it but I can't tell from your description. Best to write down all your feelings, worries and anxieties then get yourself off to a doctor for a chat and see what they say. You may just have a very active mind! Good luck though.

maybe when you get a repetitive thought you should write it down on a piece of paper, look at it read it out loud then rip the paper while saying out loud "i no longer need this thought, it know longer has a place in my mind" say it until you no longer feel the need to...good luck x

God gives you air to breathe and sunshine to enjoy.
God gives you water to drink and food to eat.
God gives you a wonderful body and sound mind, to live.

Please be kind to you, and go to a psychiatrist. This is not a shame at all. They can be extremely helpful no matter what the cause. (having a good memory is a blessing really - but anything excessive may be a problem).
