I'm a professional and shoot with a Nikon D2X and D-70. However, if I was starting from scratch I'd go Canon. They really seem to have the drive to improve their professional lines of equipment and innovate on a much faster time line.

I "play" with an Olympus C-5050. This is a great little camera and has wonderful versatility.

Amateur and a confessed equipment junky on a low budget.. Koni Omega 100, Kiev 60, various Olympus SLR 35mms, Olympus XA, Olympus Stylus Epic, Olympus E-500, Olympus D520, Sony FD83, Polaroid 35+ film scanner, and various flatbed scanners. I'm semi-professional. I own a Konica Minolta 5D (DSLR), Minolta Maxxum htsi (35mm SLR), Minolta x-700 (35mm SLR manual) and a Mamiya medium format camera. I've used them all in my photography endeavors but am currently using the 5D the most.
I also own a Canon A40 digicam that is good for family snapshots.

The cameras I use most often are: Hasselblad 500 c/m, Nikon F3hp, Toyo 45c, and a digital rebel kiss (japanese edition). Professional commercial and fine art photographer. I also have a bunch of vintage cameras that I shoot from time to time just for fun.

I have a Fuji digital, I forget the model #, but it's a 3 megapixel with 6x optical zoom. I'm somewhere between "point & shoot" and "eager amateur".

The first mega-pixel digital camera was released by Kodak in 1986, which was capable of recording 1.4 million pixels and could produce a 5x7-inch digital photo-quality print.

I shoot Canon and Nikon

Best camera I ever had was a twin-lens Yashica D four-by-four format. I had to sell it for dirt to help with a move and have regretted it ever since. Thanks for the memory. I use a Canon now 35mm and an Olympus digital. Not a pro but do some weddings and use my camera alot as a sketching tool for my paintings.
