Saw a show yesterday tell how to overcome problem. After washing with gentle shampoo, apply a curling gel, with a broad tooth comb, bring hair forward, and "plop" hair into towel, then twirl up towel on each side of head, with both hands, not one big sweep like usual, and secure the two around your head for 20 minutes.
Never use a brush, just really broad toothed comb.

did you just wake up and getting ready for work...school? then what you need to do is put moisturizer on it with a dab of mousse and you will be OK the rest of the day,but next time do braids and that will make the curls you are looking for. the best moisturizer for the hair is coconut oil it works perfectly great and that would have stopped all the frizz you are having today!

How about good old rolers or cork screws.
If you do not put moisturizer in your hair then off course it will friz.

wash it again. if you want curls without curlers, braid it. it will give you very soft ringlets
