Suitable for what? I have heard that some drug dealers keep tigers because every body and his brother has a pit bull now and if you want to scare people you have to get serious. This is probably an urban legend. I have found it hard enough to find someone to rent an apartment to me with a 13 pound tabby cat. Where are you planning to house this kitty? Have you a litter box big enough? I bought the biggest one at Petsmart and the little beast still kicks litter on the floor. And food? You plan on just getting the super big bag of Meow Mix or have you researched what a Tiger really needs to eat? And what he will do when he doesn't get it?

Hi,
I am glad you took the time to ask this question before getting a Big Cat.
Do you remember the act Siegfried and Roy that used two large white 600 pound tigers in their act?
Well, please read the following, and I know you will drop any thought of ever having a big cat as a pet.

I have a love for animals also, but some must be loved at a distance.
Good question,
Darryl S.

No that is not acceptable. They are not domesticated for one, two they are adorable as kittens but what happens when it's 500 pounds and decides it wants to use your legs as a toy?Especially reconsider if you have small children.Tigers belong in the wild, they are beautiful animals who do not deserve to hunted and slaughtered.A tiger or any other wild animal is not a suitable pet.

Oh absolutely. It's not like they're endangered, or will maul you to death
There is a saying in India that you will never meet anyone who has really seen a tiger - because if they had they wouldn't have lived to tell the tale
Camila you said your answer is based on experience so I am SERIOUSLY impressed - you've been eaten by a tiger but you're still answering people's questions - this is proper committment. Good for you :-)

It is not suitable to have any wild animal as a pet, they are unpredictable by nature and can turn on you or someone else at any moment. There are lots of facts to support this. Anyone who recommends this should have his or her head examined. Look what happened to Roy from one of his trained tigers. They never lose their instincts.

It's illegal in most places. It's a wild animal and it's bigger than you. I'd rather see more tigers in the wild than roaming around people's living rooms.
Suggest you read "The Final Confession of Mabel Stark" by Robert Hough and then see if you still want one.
