It may vary from state to state and on how serious the violation was. Minor offenses and accidents usually are no longer reported after 3 years after a dissuasion was reached. This is not the same as when the violation occurred.

In Ohio at least it takes 3 years for a ticket to disappear. Not sure about elsewhere. Probably around the same time.

accident after 5 years, but it will technically still be there, but whoever is looking will have to dig deeper to find it.
and a ticket won't show up only the points that come with it. It will show the reason for the points on your DMV record. Thats it.

These records are held permanently....

However police records relating to dmv records are destroyed after 3 years

DISAPPEAR? Well, someone will be able to pull up the information FOREVER. Insurance companies can see about the last ten years. But it only COUNTS for five years. AFter the five years, it still SHOWS, but doesn't count against you.

3-5 years depending on state and insurance company!
