its optional.because vw no that if you buy a new beetle you will buy a flower ,if you don't buy a flower you will be spotted as a cheap skate or not a genuine hippy chick ,

They come with a vase in them and most owners put a flower there.

They come with plastic ones... which you can swap for real roses or whatever. Watch the water level level though.
